If you didnt watch it all the way through you missed out big time. :)

Minority Report is still worth seeing for its examination of issues of free will and personal responsibility, as well as for its cautionary view of a potential future where fear could result in the sacrifice of privacy and personal liberty for the appearance of safety. It's just a shame that what could have been a great movie is relegated to only a good movie by a lack of focus down the home stretch. :(

wtf
minority report was WICKED
from both a futurist and general critic perspective...
flawless acting, great story, beautiful sets etc etc

;D

its like a very elaborative and updated blade runner (without a lot of the noir and required inference)

Ending was a bit too hollywood for me but I thought it was otherwise fine despite the fact Im not a huge fan of Tom Cruise.

catch me if you can....steven spilberg movie right?i think sounds good cos of the producer.but, actuarlly i dont like the Leonard Decaprio.
he is realy good actor but i dont like his normal life.
before,he got big party in highclass hotel then he pissed on the floor, and had a sex with several girls at same time.i know he's got talent for the acting but his attitude is so fucked up.
he is realy popular in japan too though.especially japanese chicks loves leonard.

I really liked this movie and i dont usually like futurist sci-fi...

It also starts off fast so it might be hard for some to grasp the concept of what the movie is about ...

This movie might come across a bit flashy and over done ...
but then again thats what futurist science fiction has to offer ...

Think Back to the Future and flying cars and time travel...
Things that seem fairly improbably nearly impossiable but then again nothings impossiable... or is it ....
:tripping: :tripping: :tripping:

yeah, normaly people thinks that never happen like scifi movie stuff, but its not!
used to people say "we cant go to moon" "we cant go fast as horse do" "we cant fry" "we cant travel to another planet" "we cant travel to other country without ships" "we cant kill animals without spears or allows" "we cant speak people who lives in another country" we cant we cant we cant........but its not.
we made "car" "space shatlle" "plane" "guns" "mobile phones"
"computer" "internet" etc........we are still improving.
yeah,i think minority report could show us "earth in very future".
so,whats next?star trek or something may be.

It was a frustrating movie, because it had the potential to be great, but it just didn't quite get there, like someone else said, it was missing something... be it story or direction related, I can't say. I liked the way they used the personalisation in the interactive advertising, though - a remarkably accurate glimpse of the not-too-distant future if you ask me...

Doing Industrial Design at uni.....I live for shit like that prototype....I pretty much went to the movie just to see it but I ended up loving the whole thing.

Lost its way a bit towards the end though.....

it is an interesting story (short story?) from Philip K Dick, which deserved more, but this to me was just excessive hollywood crap....those scenes when tom Cruise was "directing" the images from the seers on the screen were cringe material, and they took up seemed like 1/3 of the film!

i liked the street scenes, but that was it

I was wondering how close the movie kept to the original Philip K Dick story. Was the ending "pure Hollywood" as people are stating, or did it keep in context with the original story?

I enjoyed the film personally as I enjoyed other PK Dick stories that have been made into films. OK, so it didn't have the brilliance of "Blade Runner", but I thought it was on a par with "Total Recall".

Not brilliant cinema maybe, but it didn't make me reach for the off button. Enjoyable stuff. 6 out of 10.

heres a tip...dont look too closely into Minority Report, cuase it doesnt make any sense!

they want the opperation to go national, but dont actually have any other clone people(cant remember what they are called), so how is it supposed to go national...what, like suddenly they can see every murder in the entire nation

out and out bollocks if you ask me!

and how stuupid was the part in the car factory. somehow they just seem to walk into this opperational factory, with no actual people there at all, and when the cars are created, they just convieniently drive off out of the factory

its stuupid

and im sorry, cars that drive up buildings...can we just say gimmic

I fell asleep midway through.

I generally don't like Spielberg movies - great production, effects, acting etc, but the stories and particularly their endings (or specific scenes at the end) tend to make me cringe.

i thought it was really good, but do agree it could have been better. spielberg is renowned for making hollywood classics, and therein lies the problem, "HOLLYWOOD CLASSICS." woud probly have been done better by ridley scott, in a darker futuristic setting. The setting had a very happy sunshine feel to it, whilst the story gave off a very pessimistic "everyone has a leash up their ass and nothing is too secret or sacred" feel. mixing these two instead of creating the right mood and setting for the movie kinda left me wondering what to make of it. was it a good idea or a bad idea? when the idea is put across in this way its generally the directors fault for not portraying the scenario correctly.

Spielberg did MUCH better with AI: Artificial Intelligence. very very often painfully slow movie, however i luv'd it :) or am i just being sadistic?

I thought Minority Report was completely shit. Sure it has some glossy scenes and some whizz-bang action, but it has absolutely no soul, and hardly even a coherent storyline... and worst, it reeks of unoriginality. Complete waste of 2 hours IMO.

Completely different from the original ending from what I've heard. At the end of the book Pre-Crime is still in place. Or so Im told...

they are not acutally cars as we know them, as in 4 wheels and such. its a magnetic system and therefore driving up/down buildings ain't a problem. the cars featured in the film such as the one cruise drives out of the factor are never pictured travelling beyond the dimensions they travel today.
