I think it f's you up because you have to take a chance when you love someone and sometimes like all chances it backfires and unfortunately by then you've invested your heart and well yes it can suck.

It sucks having your heart broken thats for sure but its worth the risk.

Being in love can be the most wonderful thing in the world but unfortunately, someone that can make you feel so good also holds the power to crush your world completely.

Something I had to learn was to never give too much of who I am to someone because if they ever leave - you have to make sure you've still got some for yourself!

I think it's healthy to hate for a while. Then one day you'll wake up and find you don't care any more! That's the BEST feeling when that happens - when you've crossed into indifference. And from there, you can maybe rebuild a friendship. But don't rush the friend thing - it will only make getting to the indifference bit slower and more difficult. Bon chance!

I think the word LOVE is abused way too much... people who find a girl/guy attractive and want to have sex with them immediately think that is love. That is not love.

To be able to truly 'love' someone, in the true meaning of the word, a person must become emotionaly attatched to that person, and feel true bliss when around that person and know everything is great because u know that person is alive.

Well, that has just been my experience and I believe my point is that you can't just 'love' someone instantly, you need to get to know the person as a friend as well as being in a sexual relationship or not. Most long term relationships are based on these important factors of true friendship, and then it can be classified as true love.

Love doesn't suck. Love's a fucking beautiful thing. It's people who suck, get it right.

No seriously- love in itself, when all is going right, is the most wonderful thing in the world. But when people devote their whole life to either seeking or maintaining that state, that's when it all gets ugly and messy. Most people have this idealised version of what love should be like... riding off into the sunset and living happily ever after etctetcetc. You fall in love with someone, give your whole being to them and assume that everythings going to be ok after that- love will keep us going and all that jazz.

But life don't work like that. People are flawed. They fuck up. Often. Love can't ever be like a movie or a romance novel or anything, because its and needs to stay grounded in reality... placing an overly large importance on it is just going to lead to hurt and crying into your beer. There are other things in life- your friends, your interests, your career, whatever. Finding happiness and enjoyment in these things instead of letting the pursuit of romantic love dominate is so important- so when love fucks up, the hurt is alleviated somewhat. As some crap eighties band once said, love is a drug- so use in moderation kids.

This is so true! I've been with my boy for 4 years now and I love him more than anything and can't imagine life without him. :blush:
