I read a small article in Onion about a new night at The Loft called Fabric. Did anyone go to the opening last Saturday? If so, what was it like?
From the article, I like the music they'll be playing (progressive house) so hopefully it will work and draw a crowd! (unlike Future)

Fabric is my favourite night out in Adelaide right now. The Opening on 14 July was a blast (I was the one down the front with my arms in the air) and the boys backed up last Saturday with an even more solid lineup of Progressive House. This music is huge in Europe and some parts of LA and New York right now, but hasn't really made a mark in Australia. It's house music, but it's deeper, richer; sometimes tribal sometimes downright dirty. Think Sasha, Digweed, Lawler, Tenaglia; that kinda sound. (Not Too Girly. Not Too Hard. But Just Right.) Fantastic crowd too. A little bit of wallpaper, but most people there for the music.

The DJ lineup is really strong. Mal would have to be one of the potential stars in Adelaide right now. (And the guy is clearly buying records from all around the world; his stuff is really up to the minute, which is fantastic.)

Fabric is just what Adelaide needs. Great tunes and great people in a friendly, unpretentious venue. I hope more people become fans of Progressive House as a result.

There has been a bit of discussion of this club on the forums at www.thescene.com.au I think one of the promoters posts there..
Apparently the opening night got a decent crowd into the Loft. I guess if prog is your thing you should be getting out and supporting this...otherwise it will go the way of The Future

Aiight!!

Respek!

I sadly missed the opening night but friends had an awesome night, I went last night and was quite impressed with Mal's DJing...Only thing that annoyed me was that not many people started dancing until between 1-2am, my friends and I were up there early and that was while Mal was pumping out the good tunes...later it got a bit harder and I didn't like quite so much being straight at the time, but I know I would have loved it off tapping...

decent numbers...

go visit the forums at www.thescene.com.au, to find more comments about opening night and future things...

and definately go visit the club...see the fish, enjoy the tunes, and get up and dance ealry in the night!!!!

see you there!!

Definitely if you love your progressive, come out and support Fabric. I've been the last two weeks and can't see myself stopping anytime soon. I started bopping as soon as I walked through the doors and didn't stop till close - the music there is sensational!
It did get a bit harder after Mal, but I thought Nick T played a rocking set as well (love that soliton wave). All in all a GREAT night out for Adelaide, and a good chance to reminisce about Dreamers with Kit running the night as well as Nick, Phil and Brendon playing. So if like me you were part of the early morning Dreamers crew then come check it out.

And the fish rock!!!

I sadly wasn't at the opening night but i have been going there for the last 3 weeks and can't seem to get enough of it. Next weekend is going to be a Big one for Fabric. Kasey Taylor Australia's Number 1 progressive house Dj. I will be there with some great mate having a ball. There is a lot of disscution about this night posted in the Adelaide forum on The Scene. Go and Check it out.

See you all there on the 15th of September "01"

kc rocked big time! let's keep the progressive thing in adelaide building! I know there are a lot of prog fans out there in adelaide after this, so make sure you keep supporting the scene otherwise there won't be too much to support!
