Me and my boy are planning a trip to Europe mid next year and were thinking about going over to Ibiza. Do you think its worth it, or it Ibiza dead?
It's time to let go, people. The spirit of clubbing in Ibiza died years ago. Let the islanders enjoy their home in peace.
Unless you'd like to go to actually see the place - it's really quite beautiful once you get away from the clubs and the beached-whales-having-sex.

Some cool clubs but overloaded with english yobbos

Ibiza is fun if you've never been there, just avoid the commercial mass market centre of town, theres plenty of great bars and partys on the other side of the island.

Russia has some amazing clubs......... Def check Russia out, the venues are wikid, really old buildings with marble and shit everywhere, coloumns and history and the like.....
Also South America and Central America - these places will never die and will never go the way of Ibiza - just make sure you don't go where all the English and American's go for their holiday i.e. Cancun - shit hole, just like Ibiza and many places in Spain the English holiday maker how is completly unable to think for themselves have over taken this regoin for their mindless package holiday destination, hmmm tell me what to drink, where to drink it and when to drink it...
this is what killed Ibiza all the larger wankers who have no idea what a good hliday should entail - and no drinking games where you wear fucked up maskes and do races in a pool don't fucking cut it...X(
Um there are lodas of wikid parties that go on in Central/South America, Russia, also try out Prague, quite a few Americans here but Prague is def a place to see.......

Well I'm a pretty cynical bastard and went to Ibiza last Summer thinking it wasn't going to be all that. It WAS all that. It's a beautiful place and the clubbing is off the richter scale. Check the lineups for Cocoon, We Love Sundays, Circo Loco, Pacha, etc. for quality. I don't know what planet Tim-e's on - "beached whales having sex on the beach"? More like a collection of the world's sexiest people. Check out Salinas beach, Bora Bora and much more. The downsides are that it costs an absolute mint. On the Oz $ you may find it prohibitive. I spent 500 Euros in one 36hr session. Pickpocketing and break and enters are also rife so be careful. And there is no way you'd stay in San Antonio with the Brits.

Laughing with you there w0rm, I am thinking if you want sophistication, steer clear of both....... but my opinion......
I am not into the poser crap and think they be wankers and not all that attractive.... so perhaps why I like the true clubbers and the places they go....

just read some of the posts, I agree with most of them (I am even English) Ibiza has been run down and according to figures, Ibiza is down 1/3 in figures than when it was in its prime (mid nineties) Also the Euro has affected a lot of the market, booze, fee have gone up in price with the introdution of the Euro. Ayia Napa is OK but is mainly R&B with some UK garage still filtering through. Finally there is Magaluff, avoid if you hate us Brits, GO there if you wanna get laid by some 16 yr olds!! the choice is yours!! :?

Interesting that no ones mentioned Mykanos! Mykanos is the second best island for quality clubbing in the Med, and its 'gay' reputation has the desired effect of keeping the pommie beer monster hordes at bay. It's probably the only other place where beautiful people go clubbing to decent music. Definately worth a look-in!!

I know there is a Greek Island that has a huge number of rapes each year, and it is a very popular destination with the young....
Not that I am saying don't go... not at all Greeks Islands..mmmm warm sunshine, Ouzo........ but just maybe need to put out there to be careful.... friends have been and had a ball..... just a travel warning if you will....

Yeah but quite a lot of bad shit happens in Falaraki, check this out from the Daily Mirror paper from England:
A BRITISH tourist aged 17 was stabbed to death with a broken bottle yesterday in notorious Greek resort Faliraki.
The victim, who hasn't been named, was slashed across the neck and died in the ambulance on the way to hospital.
His death followed a row over a girl in Q bar in Faliraki, Rhodes, around 1am.
Seven Brits aged 18 to 30 were arrested in connection with the murder of the man from Peterborough, Cambs, who was living temporarily on the island. They are due in court today.
Police are still looking for two more men involved in the pub fight. Jimmy Kondou, 41, who owns Jimmy's pub 300 yards from the Q bar, said the killing had left everyone in the resort feeling "flat". He said: "People come here on holiday, they don't expect to lose their lives."
Faliraki, where ITV documentary Club Reps: The Workers was filmed, has become notorious for gangs of drunken young Brits causing trouble.
Capt Themis Kalamatas, Faliraki police chief, said: "This is the worst case so far with regard to the excesses of British tourists.
"There had been warnings that the rapes, drinking and sexual excesses and the violence could eventually lead to murder. This nightmare scenario has now become reality."
Mayor Yiannis Iatridis said police patrols have been stepped up but they weren't enough.
He added: "This is our biggest problem, there are not enough police around.
"All these young men come and they think they can do anything they like.
"We must get a much larger police force.
"We have 35,000 tourists here, the overwhelming majority of them British, and, of these, a minority of only 1,000 of them terrorise the entire area."
There have a number of tragic accidents and sexual assaults in Faliraki over the past few months.
Matthew Benney, 29, from Swansea, was run over by a bin lorry and killed last week, possibly during a bet.
A girl of 17 was raped on the beach after being picked up in Faliraki last month. There were 34 reported rapes last year.

w0rm - have a question for you, I am not understanding why it seems so many British Tourists act like this when abroad - I am not saying Aussies abroad are a picnic, ask any German from Munich, they are not fond of Aussies at the ol October Fest, but they don't go around stabbing and raping peeps, after living there I thought I would understand a little better, but it still excapes me...... Can you shed any light, on why so angry????
Cause if I may say, all my friends from the UK I count as hands down some of the finest peeps I have ever met and miss them like crazy when I am away, but they seem to be the minority..... what gives??? You are on holiday thought the idea was to relax??? It just makes me sad that these lot abroad taint the view of the rest of you..... what do you think of these dudes and chicks???

Couple of friends are doing Europe, Ibiza included. Will let you know if they thought it was money well spent in comparison to a few other places when they get back.
