I went. It was very good... my first Mad Racket though I saw Herbert at the Basement. The music started off leftfield chillout then moved into more abstract kinda house, before getting a little more accessible towards the middle of Simon Caldwell's set. Common Factor was very good. He mainly used the mixing board, didn't use his effects box much! I can't remember the music, it made me dance though :) Deep and techy house I guess, but it was really good, especially when the tempo picked up. Recloose didn't play live which was a shame, but he played a more mellow house set, some of it kinda Latin. All in all a nice evening and nothing too hectic.

The crowd was really cool, a little bit more experienced and individual. But why must so many venues in Sydney have pokie machines?

Herbert at the Basement wasn't really a Mad Racket, although the same crew.

The sort of music and crowd you described is very typical, which is why I like it.

The pokies are a shame, but they are part of the overall bowling club fell which I find humorously anachronistic
