I'm planning a trip very shortly to go up to Byron.
Can anyone suggest a nice place to stay?
I'm going up with a few mates, then loosing a few along the way.
When I finally make it to Byron, we want to stay in a really nice place where we can meet people but it wont be to expensive.
I'll also be booking myself into a resort up there for a night. The one in the tree tops. Thats a little pricy, but I don't mind.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Just don't sleep in your car, we got a $120 fine for that.

Yo we stayed here Byron Bayside Motel (http://www.bigvolcano.com.au/custom/bayside/bayside.htm) when we went to splendour this year. Comfortably fit 6 of us (bunks 2 doubles). Was clean, had small kitchen and a MASSIVE balcony. I think it was 100 bucks each for 4 nights but the price changes due to peak/offpeak.
It was nice and close to everything as well!

Hey Jabba, when are you going? I will be up there with a bunch of mad irish feckers sept 6-13!
Contact The Professionals (estate agents) at Byron 02 6685 6552 as they have heaps of holiday rentals in all price ranges ... we sorted a great house on the beach for 6 of us for $800 for the week ... not too bad in the scheme of things.
Good luck!
cheers

KX, very soon, angel.
Del, I'll be up there from the Oct long W'end till the following w'end.
I checked out the Actors one. not overly impressed i must say.
Checked out the Backpackers In. Seemed close to everything. Looks nice too. Also cheap.
Del, I will check out your link tho.
Cheers!

LJ Hooker also has some sweet places to stay on Lawson St. Five minute walk from the centre of things.
I'm paying $800 a week for a place in early december that's almost new and sleeps five.
Check their website for holiday rental details.
you can always camp or whatever at one of many caravan parks... thats pretty much as cheap as you'll get.
I'd rather get on the net though and book an apartment or beach house, pay more but you're splitting it with mates... and it's not embarrassing bringing peeps back. "Do you wanna come back to my... tent?" really doesn't sound that inviting.

thought i'd ask if there was a more up to date set of good places to stay in Byron since these are 6 years old. Me and a group of 5 guys are going on a road trip up to byron and i was wondering if anyone knew of some quality stays?

Hire a house up near Wategos Beach (near the lighthouse). Much nicer beach, much nicer area and some of the places up there are seriously pimp.

What's your budget? Watego's is nice but it's a hike into town.
Am heading up with my partner next week and left it late for accommodation, just booking now. There was this amazing house we were keen to stay in but booked out - found it on stayz.com.au Heaps of other options on there
Mildenhall Cottage $300 per night week days, $400 per night Fri-Sun.
property: BYRON BAY 58820, 414 Lighthouse Road, BYRON BAY, NSW 2481,

So far we're staying at The Byron on Byron which should be all shades of nice for a loved up couple!

Our budget is probably around 250-350 per night for the week is probably what we are looking at but if its a bit more pricy and looks awesome, i'll definately be interested.

If you want a house for the week call one of the real estates there, they manage most of the holiday houses.
