does anyone know of any?

also... can anyone suggest any nice bed and breakfasts or other hotels that you think are of a worthy mention?

the location im looking for is anywhere in sydney cbd, blue mountains, hunter valley... im not too picky just so its not too far away! (id settle for no more than about 5hours drive away!)

thanks :)

Do you want hotel rooms with the hidden micro-cameras in the smoke alarms and behind two-way mirrors or without?

Hi CS,
I'm taking my girlfriend away for a surprise weekend in Berry this weekend (kidnapping her from her work this arvo ;) ). It's only two hours sth of Syd & can go on to Jervis Bay & Kangaroo Valley.
Anyway, the motel we're stying at is:
http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2003/03/28/1048653845261.html

Cost is $320 for the weekend (inc buffet Bkfst) & a "Spa-Room" costs an additional $30.

I'll let you know how good it is on Monday!

I did Lilianfels at Katoomba w/ my gf last year and she loved it. You can get spa rooms, and it is located right on the clifftop overlooking the three sisters and views right down the valley. The food and facilities were top notch - 3 course dinners, indoor heated pool, full billiard room (we hung out there lots), library, full day spa/massage centre, 5 mins from town centre and the cable cars...

We did a midweek 3 day/2 night incl dinner one night and breakfast all three days for about $700 each, incl a one hour massage. Best weekend ever. ;) :p

There are so many B&Bs in the mountains, go to www.bluemts.com.au and hit the accommodation link

Lilianfels is brilliant!
Pricey but the location is sublime!

Ditto The Fairmont at Wentworth Falls.

The Valley of the Waters B&B in Wentworth Falls is worth a look.
Location is unbelievable! Some of the best bushwalks in the blue mts nearby too.

if you want a peak: http://www.bluemts.com.au/valleywaters/

hope this helps

Manor House boutique hotel (http://www.wotif.com/accommodation/viewdeal.asp?TimeStamp=8/30/2003%204:12:14%20PM&PropID=2966&CountryCode=1&PropType=1&Region=Sydney&SubRegion=CBD&Area=accommodation)

I took my girly here for her 21st earlier this year and it was really nice. They even left her a little gift bag when they found out it was her birthday. They have a really cute house dog as well that just roams around the place.

and yes they have a spa in the bathroom.

Ok, the verdict:
The "Boutique" motel, is more of just a nice motel really. There are no special "pampering services" available. Basically you're left to your own devices (which CAN be a good thing). Berry is a great little place. Very nice restaurants everywhere, and had a great time getting pissed with the locals on Friday night.
Saturday was a short drive to Jervis Bay (my fave local holiday spot) to picnic on the beach which we had to ourselves & the dolphins in the bay. That night was another incredible dinner & karaoke with the locals. Sunday drive to Kangaroo Valley & home.

If you're up for pampering & so forth I'd go for something like Alex suggests, but for a last minute getaway or you like to do your own thing, I'd recommend Berry. The thing is, there really are SO many options available to us in NSW. I'd grab a copy of "Weekends Away" & choose by that next time I think.

Search the web for a place called "Eagle View" - it's a retreat up near the Blue Mountains. They have a number of log cabins that have sunken spa's in the bedroom.

The Landmark Apartments in Nelson Bay - I don't think I've been to nelson bay, except for when i was little, so there should be some fun stuff to do - maybe i'll learn to catch my first fish

This is a bit freaky but I just got off a call at work from the people that manage the Landmark (Nelson Bay) among other places in the Hunter Valley and B.Mountains.

They have awesome deals like 4 days (midweek) or weekend for under $300 all up. You put down a small deposit and you can book anytime within 12 months. It excludes things like school holidays etc.

Anyway the number is 1300 360 051 and they can fax you info.

THats the one - 'the NSW Accommondation Corp.' or something of the like?

Thats how i got the Landmark apartment thing, it;s working out to be something like $289 for 4 days for a studio with a full kitchen and seperate bathroom with a spa.

The only limitations are; you can't use it in school holidays, a maid doesn't make the bed/clean the room while you stay there, and if you want fresh towels you have to go down to reception desk - works out pretty good.

I came across it cos i answered the phone at work and it seemed like a fair deal :D

Yep, thats the one. Got some good deals and its not timeshare so you don't get hassled out for the week
