Hi Paul, hows Sydney?

For some reason it seems the Adelaide crew don't have much to say on ITM, is everyone still stuck on AdRave?

:)

Cheers Dave TECHiONE (DAMC)

Lots of new venues have opened up in the last 12 months and there has been a shift from esatend to wesst end of the city.
Its going to be a long hot summer especially with the fringe happening early next year. There is a pathetic level of activity on ITM but it does not reflect the quality of the scene(s) down here and I came from Sydney.

Not a whole lot does happen. There doesn't seem tobe many good quality music, by that i mean a bit of electronica sorta stuff. I can't wait to see the day that oddessy and his money hungry rave crew are crushed never to put on a party again. It will happen, adelaide is there for the taking at the moment. Maybe one day i will be able to go to a rave again and leave satified with the music played

We'll I'm not one to talk. I was always given grief about making to much money from the scene and only doing comercial edged shows...

It's not that hard if you want to run an event... you've just got to get movivated.

Yeah, it must be hard trying to keep on the borderline of selling out, would just like to seea few raves for the people. I have actually looked into pting on some stuff and i could get a lot of people to play, not for money but just for the fun of it, for the people

You are one negative person Drem.I think you will be waiting a long time to see Odyssey and his crew crushed.
If you have been so dissapointed with the music that has been playing at raves then why do you still go?
You somehow sound jealous of how well oddy is doing.Hey i may be wrong but thats just what it seems like.
Hard nrg rocks thats all i can say and its booming right now in Adelaide and you know it.

Drem
20-Nov-01, 11:05am
Well i actually don't go to raves anymore because it's a waste of my money. what with the $50 tickets and all that goes with it i don't bother anymore, I leave very frustrated and musically unsatisfied. But one thing, im not jelous of their thing. I just know alot of people who feel the same way. Good for you if you love it, i don't and i was just seeing what other people thought, this is a discussion board isn't it???

Heidy
20-Nov-01, 11:56am
Yes your right this is a discussion board, maybe i went a bit harsh in my words but what i cant understand is why do so many people bag hard nrg/hardhouse?
If you dont like it you dont have to listen to it and neither do the people you know that are sick of it all.
The point im trying to make is everyone has a right to what type of genre they listen to and enjoy listening to so if its hardhouse or progressive then thats fine by me but when you come here and say negative comments about a genre your not keen on its not right.Im not keen on progressive but i wouldnt start a thread who hates progressive, because to me there are people out there who love that kind of music and i respect that.

I agree with you heidy, i was just testing the waters
to see what people think. I have a lot of friends
who listen to hard nrg and the sorts and i don't
bag them or there music. The only reason i do bag it a bit is cause its soooo
simple. I don't listen to it and i know i don't have to, but it would be nice to
be able to go out and hear something else with a bit of substance.
I don't have the right to just bag 1 type of music but
at least people will have a responce to it...like your self...thanx

how can you call hard nrg simple when youve already said you like Detroit techno ..

your obviously the simple one !

Come on Drem - you can't tell me that there is nothing in Adelaide that doesn't offer substance! There has been an absolute downpour of new clubs recently that offer various styles of music - HINT: Look in Onion and dare to try somewhere different - I have spent the last couple of months touring all clubs and bars and I'm quite impressed as I can now head out and know I will be satisfied with what I want to hear and what I actually hear!

I will hopefully see you out at these new places Drem and maybe you might be surprised....

That was 1 example, just stuff with meaning and emotional music, stuff that goes deeper than that high hat and base and a few little sounds here and there

Drem pull your head out of your arse.
Take a look @ System 6 ticket prices will ya!

EG: last systo $10 presale, $15 on the door, for two Internationals of very high standing in the NRG scene.
Money hungry? what the @!#$ have you been smoking mate?

Adelaide has always had alot to offer... you've just got to have a look around...
The problem is most poeple want to go where the poeple are and sometimes that is not the music that you want to here...

There has never been so much choice here in Adelaide for venues and that has created an bit of a dilema for people not used to it. People wander from bar to club to club hoping to find "the crowd' but not stopping anywhere long enough to create a vibe in a place just an observation that might be due to exams .

Drem I can't understand your disappointment with Raves you've been too unless you have gone expecting detriot techno. They always seem ( I'm not into the music so I don't go myself #) to deliver what they advertise so if your not into hard house/nu-nrg/trance/DnB then don't go. Did you check out pseudosoundproject005 on Friday - 100% live electronica and visual/performace artists. There is something for everone here if you dig deep enough

#- friends are trying to get me to go to Enchanted Forest with them so Can anyone tell me who is playing the deep house breaks room as there is no info on the site and its likey I'd park my zimmer frame there when the Reprezant crew wern't on

Some of us like Detroit tech, some like HiNRG. I don't like the latter and love the former, but stop saying one is better than the other. It's a childish argument and proves nothing.

Oddy and I agree to disagree...

...and yes, it's AdRave that probably has an impact on keeping the forum list queit.
