As the warm breath of summer begins to caress the back of my neck....

I wonder where is it that I can combine sunshine and boozing?

It seems that the humble beer garden isn't what it once was...

BUELLER? BUELLER?

Yeah, agreed, the Rose in Chippendale is good.

The Sheaf in Double Bay or the Beach Road Hotel in Bondi have good courtyard areas, but they suffer from a lack of greenery. Isnt a garden supposed to have like plants in it?

The Watsons Bay Beer garden is accesible by ferry from town and has spectacular views (of the hot women that drink there) of the harbour. It also has Doyles restuarant which does great chips :)

More of a beer roof, but the Glenmore.

And for beer bungalows you can hire some out at the Woolwich Pier.

NOTHING better than a beer garden in summer.:-D

the Pyrmont Point hotel has a pretty nice one - I went there for after work drinks last friday - its a short walk across the pyrmont bridge, turn left after the casino then about another 200m (or directly above John St Square tram stop)

nice selection of beers, good food and rather spunky clientelle

The Alexandria Hotel on Henderson Rd.

Huge beer garden, and generally pretty quite. Also the best bar staff I've ever experienced in Sydney.

the Rose is shit. Beers taste funny there and the food is massively overpriced. You need to eat about $12 pizzas to even vaguely fill you up. Having said that, I once shared a urinal with Bobo from Pizza so I forgive the place :)

yeh the Great Northern is a nice pub with good beer garden, as is the Brookvale Hotel on Pittwater rd (they are very similar pubs). Newport Alms is also a classic spot

The Old Fitzroy in Wooloomooloo has a small but rather inviting beer garden - and for anyone coming to Wollongong, Cooneys Tavern, is the goods. As is The Brewery, overlooking the Beach, not so much a garden as a massive verandah type setup, but very swish.

Sorry special ed. It does happen from time to time.

North Coast has some wikkid beer gardens.

Austenville (Fark my memory fails regarding the spelling).

Elthem.

Even though it's overpriced the Byron Bay Beach Hotel is a top spot.

Many more

It is a little far out for most of you but a new pub opened up at Menangle Park. It reminds me of the greenwood. Nice place with plenty of outdoor areas and cook your own bbq.

Yep......... just got home from a messy messy saturday night. All the customers had taken their fuckstick injection before arriving which made it a very painful experience.

Gotta be back there this avo.

Yeah, I've always loved the Rose but things have gone seriously downhill. We were there for the Wallabies/All Blacks and one amongst us asked for a bowl of chips, only to be informed that they don't serve chips. "But you've got fish and chips, the burger comes with chips, hell, pretty much everything has chips with it," we protested weakly. But they held firm. And when someone asked for fish and chips, hold the fish, they weren't amused. Boo sucks to them, I say.
