I've tried - I really did give beer a good shot. Tasted a few varieties - bitter, light, dark, blah. The taste is fine but I am unable to get past the smell.

My father has been brewing religiously every Monday morning since I was 13 years old. The overpowering, yeasty-thick stench of the brewing and bottling process makes me want to retch. This has slowly mellowed into a deep dislike.

As a consequence we have over 1000 bottles of beer in rotation which have miraculously survived my alcholic teen-age years.

Dad learnt too late that he should have bottled his own Johnnie Walker.

I used to drink scotch/bourbon pretty much religiously for 2 years, then I woke up to myself. It's not a social drink you can have with mates on a hot day or at a sporting event or after work. Technically yes, but the title is engineer :tripping: me is not sit there and design beams to take loads in buildings.

Vital that probably is the case no doubt, but one our site there were approx 6 foreman vs 7 site and project engineers. It was all out war between us and we as they did themselves did our best to distinguisher ourselves from each other.

So while the foreman would drink beer and eat chips, the engineers would drink water and go to the gym and do triathlons etc.
