Was just wondering when the inthespotlight chats for 2004 were going to kick off...

I reckon it would be awesome if we could get to have a say and suggest who we would to chat too as well..

Can anyone tell me what the go is for this??

Cheers in advance

Jeff Mills (he's rumoured;) to come out next year, would be great to here his take on things )

Ellen Allien (Founder of bpitch control records, and her critically acclaimed Berlinette album has caused quite a bit of noise on part sof itm )

LFO (released a rocking album last year, amazingly talanted producer, working with the like of Richie Hawtin, Plump Dj's and Bjork)

Yeah!

Though maybe a bit of cross over with interveiws and in melbourne anyway alot are on the forum, or out in clubs and easy to converse with there.

Unfortunatly lots dont know much of local talent and the quality and inovative ideas out there, having them an ITSL could be really cool.

Though (again) it would presumably be someone(s) out of the very Cluber Guide to whateveresque side of things....

Judge Jules i think is an excellent idea, he's a top bloke, great DJ and i'm sure he'd have a lot of interesting things to tell us.

armin and pvd we've done chats with so won't be covering again for a while. i have tried a number of chats with local artists and people haven't really supported them by turning up... i would love to do more, so suggest some names that you would turn up for?

also, bear in mind for me to get o/s artists there often needs to be a promotional angle so there is 'something in it for them' (ie - they're touring, releasing a cd, etc) i'll definitely be going for some of the two tribes guys...

chrys> what sort of female artist are you thinking?

Sorry Tim I forgot that I had posted in these forums.. my bad..

Umm female artists like Peaches, Disco Pussy, Biftek Miss Kittin(would be an ultimate for me and the other lectro heads out there) and that dj that always dj's topless (her name eludes me) and some of the local girls doing things here in oz like BeXta, Dj Josh and any others at this hour are eluding me..

It just intruiges and fascinates me as to the role that women are now playing and doing so well at creating careers and names for themselves in a usually male dominated industry....

Spose it would be fascinating and have so many question's I and am sure others would have for them...

Yeah, Disko Pussy (Daisy),
Would be cool, she's played at large scale events all round Australia so it has appeal to everyone, and has had experiences/ventures with many areas of dance music in Australia. (Her bio here (http://www.teriyakianarkisaki.com/diskopussy.html)).
And she's a really lovely person as well. :)

But as far as OS females go, In terms of who would be amazingly interesting to hear answer questions,
definently Ellen Allien,
as far as people who are creating fresh and individual sounds, few are of the caliber of her and the artists on her record label. Her Berlinette (http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/record-reviews/a/allien_ellen/berlinette.shtml) album was the production highlight of the year for many.
And she is rumored to be brought for a tour out sometime soon.......

all that said,
every tourist has heard of "Judge Jules". :|

:bitter & jaded: ;)
