Shopliftas - Controllin' (http://www.mp3.com.au/track.asp?id=70778#)

Well it's been a long wait for phibs... held back a couple of releases for quite a few many months ( they are on the shopliftas site but i don't feel like advertising them )

But now, it has been unleashed.

Stadium breaks.
If you like your breaks punishing and stupid here it is. stadium breaks. Many times did we sit through the production of this track and say "not clever but is big "

Going for a dark breaks feel. touch repetitive i admit. it's not meant to be chinstroking. but the vocal sample is gold. :offchops:

I will buy or mail order a voucher for a 6 pack of beer of your choosing to the first person who can tell me where i lifted the vocal sample from. It's fairly recent too.

( it's not cleared btw, so no telling any one in the record industry or who has access to copyright lawyers ;D )

Feed back on mixing would be muchly apprciated. my partner just under gone a metaphosis to a higher skill level within the last few months and without his help this track would not have even been possible.

And quickly too.... congrats to the trainspotter extraordinare

though i would prefer it if maybe not everyone knew where i liffted it from ..... ah well perils of being a shoplifter i guess.

Oh and it was supposed to be a advertising thingy... just didn't think it would be pinged at 1:18 am , mere minutes from posting

The vocal build layed on the strings is a little too clean to fit with the track, how about a leftfield style radio FX on the final (louder) vocal? Pan some of the percussion more, its all a little cluttered. The pads are all very thin and could do with some agressive EQ'n.

Needs way more FUCKIN OOMPH, it's so flaccid right now. And I got like 15dB of bass boost.

Yeah i tend to agree with phunk on this, it's real weak in the low end... the highs are good, but sorta messy because of the reverb, but their ok.

Yeah this is the sort of track that should almost be breathing.

I like the first 2 mins or so, nice panning chemical brothers style sample used, but it's seems to be dragging a bit for me; keep in mind tho I am not a massive breaks fan.

Tasty stuff! Can't point out exactly what I like it but I guess that means everything... Definitely makes me wish I was on a dancefloor rather than sitting at this f$#king computer!! Only negative comment is I'm getting pretty sick of hering 'controlincontrolincontrolin...etc.' by about the three minute mark but I can get past that pretty easily 'cos of the awesome beats!
