Why the f*#% wont the Chemical Brothers come to Adelaide, but they'll go everywhere else bar Perth (Tasmainia doesn't count). We'd easy sell out a chem bros gig if we had the chance! Shame on you Lees and West Promotions!
Bring the Brothers to the City of Churches!!!!!!

Quit youre bitchin they aint coming to canberra either ¿
Yeah but sydney is only a 2 hour drive away..so i wanna bitch
they dont want the chemical brothers to see adelaide..they might not come back
canberra, whats canberra?
Chemical Brothers tour seems to me like a quick publicity tour for their new album, i have no doubt they will return for a full tour, its how they make their money. Sydney suckers pay for it twice, thats all.
juding by the amazing scene here, (woohoo! I have the 474th post!) the 3 chemical brothers fans in Adelaide will have to buy themselves a train ticket to Sydney....
I think the main reason that acts like Chemical Brothers don't go to Adelaide is that generally the tickets prices are greatly lower than the rest of the country.
Making in nearly impossible to pay for such acts and leave the promoter able to feed themselves.

just goes to show you what the eastern states think of us here
yet again
they dont like us here its so obvious
look at the bdo the acts only "eastern states" get
BDO Point why does each states cost the same yet the gigs are diferent
we didnt get basement jaxx this year and still payed the same ticket
FACT the chemical brothers performance at BDO in 2000?(correct me if wrong pls) was and i quote a tek i was talking to at the gig the best gig of the tour, there was no tech probs and the sound was far better than the other gigs
(OK admit that someone also stole some of their gear at the gig the day before, but that had to be an inside job)
damm i forgot that sydney was the centre of the universe again, what was i thinking

the chemical brothers aren't playing in adelaide or perth, because
THEY DIDN'T WANT TO.
they wanted to do a fast serious of shows (east coast only) at the start of their world tour.
we offered them shows in Adelaide and Perth - their agent said 'no thanks'
SO THERE.
nothing in the world can stop that comeback haha

I suppose you are going to tell me now this is the same reason basement jaxx was an "East Coast" Exclusive as well

no. the reason that basement jaxx were East Coast only, was that they already had dates booked in for Japan when they were approached about doing BDO, and they couldn't move these Japanses dates.
they were sad to be leaving the tour - they really wanted to do the last two cities, but couldn't.
90% of times acts only play east coast is because of something to do with the ACTS.

just on top of what polarbear has quite specifically pointed out...
I wouldnt whinge if i were you adelaide... at your big day out you replaced alien ant farm and basement jaxx with tomahawk (kicks aaf arse totally) and well, i dont really like the tea party, but at least you diddnt have to leave the boiler room coz basement crap came on... nothing brings down a good day/night like hearing Romeo, a song i swear was co-written by the venga boys...

Money Time Dates and Demographics is the reason but if ya keep on bitching about it they might just listen or NOT but bitching is what Adelaidiens do best so keep up the hard work guys lol
Trying to keep the forums flowing in adel forums bring on the Balfours curry pies.......
the only thing this x-pat misses about adelaide apart from the best ice coffee in the world Farmers Union but they export it now ......

Just a little note to the joker (Couldn't be bothered to remember his name) who said "Canberra? Whats Canberra?" I'll fill you in mate. Used to be a sheep paddock. Then a heap of govy f'uckers moved up here, brought their porn along with 'em. Made a little hill, plonked a building in it. This is called "Parliament".
Then they whacked up a heap of Public Servant (Pubic Serpent) offices, and installed a few dingy meat markets for afformentioned PS's. These PS's (the ones I was talking about before... stay with me mate) procedded to breed as a result of these meat markets, creating a new generation.
A generation that looked at their parents and said "f'uck that!" so we went out with ambitious little hearts to create a warm friendly atmosphere that we can bask in without having to worry about whether jimmy blog the footyhead has had one too many. Believe it or not, we succeded. Pretty much any night of the week (give or take) I can go out to some form of breaks/tech/house/prog house/hiphop/etc/etc and bump into Canberran youth that I know from other such events and am proud to call my friends.
So before you dismiss us as something that doesn't even rate, consider that knowing where its at, and knowing the people in a city might have a fair bit to do with it. I've been to Adelaide, and all I could find were meatmarkets and an empty breaks lounge. Do you know what I thought of that? I thought I should've done some research on where to go and maybe, just MAYBE if I knew people in the city then I might not have found myself meandering around wondering where were the non-yobbo/fellow-breaks-loving/not-quite-so-intoxicated youth that inhabited the place.
So in short, f'uck off with the ignorant lack of wit you displayed, f'uck off the attitude you have, slap a smile on your mug, pull your head outta your ass, stand up straight, go to your happy place. Next time you come to canberra (if you've ever been) drop me a line, and I'll show you what we're so proud of.
Ps, its not the biggest place, so to make sure you don't drive straight through and not realise, just look for the hill with a smug looking little bushy eyebrowed fukka with glasses. This fella is known as jonny howard, and if you see him, give 'im a smack inna head for me. for US.
Cheers
I choose you, Hooker~chu!
does adelaide have an airport for the chems to fly to????!!!
Alistair- Romeo is definitely co-written by the venga boys. That song sux.
Basement Jaxx however rocked the Boiler Room
