Aussie DJs play the Miami Winter Music Conference

March 20th to 31st sees the annual Miami Winter Music Conference commence yet another year where the world's biggest DJs, producers, promoters and industry people converge on Miami beach for another schmooze-fest.

This year, some of Australia's most prolific dance music DJs and producers are playing the conference in an event backed by an American promoter. Mark Dynamix, Leah, Pocket, <B>DV8</B>, Brendan, MC Tim, Jason Midro, Quench and Ricemeister will be showcased at The Mambo Club during this year's Miami Winter Music Conference.

Each DJ/Act will be showcasing the genres they play in their state of origin to show the diversity and talent of Australia as a whole. Before they heard overseas to play in Miami, they will also be playing localised showcases

Can't agree with you more on that one 618. DV8 from Adelaide kindly hooked me up to play weekly at an Adelaide club with the promise of payment. I played three times and never saw a cent so the fourth time I didn't bother. Probably confused by the deep house I was playing - it wasn't the dodgy trance cheese he was used to.

By the way, I'm sure you're not surpised to hear that the Miami gig never went ahead and it left a few high profile Djs rather shitty with DV8

miss ribbon, is it against forum rules to tell the truth? In my earlier post I just stated the facts, no personal insults or jibes. Would still like an explanation from the guy....Adelaide is too small a place to stiff people and not have anyone find out.

yeh that's fair enough Littlesim...not that I have ever met the dude myself or anything, i just think the more appropraite forum for this kind of stuff is adrave ;)
