Actually, here's a question. I'm thinking of getting back into the gym after about 3 years to build up a few kilos of muscle I've lost. What's the best way to get back in, just really light weights and low reps the first couple of weeks? No matter what, I know I'm going to be in pain.

Yep definitely start slow. I've had a few months off now with my back injury that was caused by going too heavy too soon, so gonna start nice and light when I return next week.
