The Taxation forum that happened recently in Canberra was expected to be a useless bust - it turned out to be really, really productive with a whole heap of great policy put forward and thrashed out by policy experts in the area with minimal political grandstanding.

We've heard fuck all about it since because it doesn't fit the current media narrative, but it did more constructive work to improving the efficiency and equibility of the taxation system in Australia than any of the 'occupy' protests here will.
