Hooking up mixer to PC to record mixes
Hey everyone
this might be a stupid question but here goes and forgive me for my lack of technical knowledge

Im having trouble connecting my mixer to my pc to record my mixes

I have a pioneer djm400 set to mono with an RCA adaptor to plug into the sound card (ie two male red and whites that connect to the mixer, then on the other end it has a small plug that is the same as the plug that the pc speakers use to connect to the computer)

anyway on my old computer this worked fine i just plugged it in to the computer and it came through the speakers as soon as i pressed play on the decks

bought a brand new computer not long ago and its got this weird ass Realtek soundcard with like 6 inputs for speakers and external devices, whenever you plug something into one, ie the mixer a dialogue box pops up on the computer asking you to select what kind of device you just plugged in, no matter which option i select i cant hear anything playing through the speakers

is there some action i need to take after setting it up in order to hear it play, on my old pc there wasnt

here is a pic of the dialogue i get when i connect my mixer to the soundcard
look where it says Analogue back panel, thats what the back of my computer looks like, my pc speakers are in the orange one set to 'line in' and the mixer is in the black one underneath the orange and set to 'line out'
