So as a 4-point approach...

1) beat matching
2) level matching
3) track matching
4) key matching

and if u can get an opportunity to play with someone who knows how to play, bonus!

Massively good advice imo

I still don't get key matching. I've thought and thought and i still keep coming back to the same thing

Ok here goes...

You take one record (record A), put it on the deck and work out that it is in the key of 'A'. You put another record (record B) on the deck and work out that it is also in the key of 'A'. So you think sweet, these mofos are gonna sound good together.

Here's the bit i don't get...

You take record A put it on the left deck and start it playing. After a bit you put record B on the other deck and try to mix it in... But alas, record B needs to be sped up 4% for the two to be beatmatched... Hasn't speeding up record B up by 4% changed its key???

Could someone please shed some light, it's doing my head in...
