Immersive Light Shows!!!
Hey all check this out http://www.godskitchen.com/boombox/. Think EDC's cube but waaaaaay better!

Looks mental!!

I'd be interested to see everyone else's opinion on the trend towards these mind boggling, immersive light shows..

The future of clubbing / EDM festivals, or just a fad?

Upcoming:

personally I liked it better than the cube... I really like how these amazing light shows are popping up all over the place now, but as grenno said the "cube" thing is now the new electro and seems to be the latest lighting fad at the moment.

I guess things can only evolve and get better though

That's nothing short of amazing

The only thing i don't like about it is the DJ is perched up there like some sort of God like figure
FFS, you are only a DJ
Just gives those DJ types more reasons to to the Jesus / hands in the air pose even more times in a set.

I dig smaller gigs where the artist is down at a more in your face level for the music

But that lighting setup is worth going to a gig for alone

The killers have jumped on board that lighting idea but have used it to turn up the corn factor IMO. just doesnt work for band i reckon because it puts them in a little box, restricting them to move around stage as they normally do...

Setting up lightshows like that would be an awesome job and probably have some pretty good percs. Wonder how I would go about getting on with a company to do that. I am an electrician already so it wouldn't be a huge jump. Would maybe be a little easier to get out of bed every day if you knew you were going to do something cool like that.

don't forget the triangles!!!

Media Player

this isn't nearly as insane but definately one of the coolest shows I've ever seen, Chemical Brothers;

Media Player

you can't go past a good old fashion up close and person light show with about a billion projectors and lasers/strobes
