lol CM you idiot.

you dont understand.

you clearly stated that.

not EVERY track has the exact same layouts, the same amount of bars and phases in between breakdowns and drops.

you can adjust them with loops to make it sound better.

I would think that is why it is important to know your tracks, as opposed to just reading them on a laptop screen.
Plus, many tracks do follow very similar layouts.

yeah alot of tracks do, but not all do.

and yeah sure you still have to know your tracks, but it doesnt change the layout of it.

youre just missing out if you dont use it because of its layout.
why not just change the layout?

also, looping the start or finish of a track and bringing it in bit by bit with the eqs is a much slower smoother way of mixing too, and you can drop it whenever you want.

i fail to see the downside in that.

im becoming less intriqued about this mixer now

its easier to set up I.E. less cords
but its harder to setup like a few of you mentioned because of its size.

plus 3K.

since ive figured out how to sync ableton with traktor on my computer i might just get a jazzmutant (having found out that you can create completely custom templates on it).

Re: the whole "different layouts" thing. I just comepnsate by starting a tune earlier/later in the mix as necessary (if it drops 4 beats later, then start it 4 beats earlier etc). I still find the looping incredibly useful for extending mixes and also for those pain in the ass old tunes that have 4 beats and then suddenly everything comes in at once though.

oh yeah you can change it at the beginning of the mix, but if you're playing two tracks together through a few phases and they both hit a breakdown yet one breakdown goes longer you can loop the shorter one and have them back in at the same time.

^^ I just do it the same way as I said above anyway. I just make a mental note of when tunes do what and then just bring them in/out as necessary if I plan to do anything involving double drops etc.
