combined early bird tickets + hotel packages go on sale on friday:

http://www.mindgames.jp/tickets/

if you don't want the hotel, or you miss out, there will also be 50 tickets at early bird prices (for international guests) available through mnml ssgs.

so chrisdisco,

you said earlier the earlybirds were only available to japanese residents? is this the case for those earlybird hotel packages cause i clicked the link for the 'labyrinth hotel booking' site and it came up with this:

http://www.travel-a-s.com/greenland.htm

that looks scary...

thanks for the help

people from overseas were able to book hotels last year, otherwise camping is fine.

if you want to have tickets reserved at early bird tickets, you can also email: mnmlssg AT gmail DOT com

just include the name of each person attending.

sorry, i am absolutely flat out at the moment and don't have the time to answer specific questions. neither do the organisers. but we can help with making sure you get in. getting there and finding a place to stay should be relatively straight forward. the people that came from o/s last year had no problems.

I appreciate you're busy chris but if you could name a hotel or two inthe vicinity that would really be helpful - there's next to no info available on the net through mindgames or any other searches and we would prefer not to camp... All the current info on the hotels is in Japanese only and the promoters haven't got back to me.

Google Translate Gives you a list of the hotels.

Email them too info@travel-a-s.com

Not sure if the 23,000 Yen + hotels are for the 17th through to the 19th (and include the cost of ticket), but will let you know when I find out.

that's the spirit. my ability to read japanese is not much better than yours. so i cannot give you a list in japanese. my friend last year managed to organise it all in english - i think through emailing the hotel - so you should be fine.

i *think* that price would be 2 nights hotel + ticket. i *think*.

and as grumf says, google translate is your friend.

we camped last year and will again this year but you could try google naeba prince hotel, snowjapan, welovesnow etc for accomodation in naeba area. Closest station echigo-yuzawa, then an hourish bus to naeba, then shuttle bus or walk to labyrinth. enjoy and see you on the floor

Probably a dumb question, but do you send confirmation emails, what do we take to redeem the ticket?

Not too hard;

Spoiler:

1. Select hotel, should load with a calender
2. Click the little box on the 17
3. Enter number of rooms and number of guests (must match whats in the title i.e. you can't book 1 person), currently only for the 17th & 18th, Click the button with the arrow
4. Loads with prices on the next screen, click the button with the arrow
5. Enter in an ID & Password and click the button under the blue underlined text
6. Enter in name, address, phone etc so they can confirm your booking

I'm still looking into single accommodation, but I think that's how you book for two or more people.

I've ended up grabbing a ticket through mindgames - might just have to wing it in terms of accommodation once I get there.

Either that or buy a tent when im in Tokyo a few weeks prior

to those who've emailed, will reply and confirm in the next day or two. sorry, very busy right now. lots of emails! same applies for mindgames. don't worry, we will sort you out with a ticket.

as for hotels, you can always book it later. and if that doesn't work, then just get a tent and camp there. the vast majority of people camp.

and yes, the residents will be back for 2011.

I just called directly, the guy who works there speaks pretty good English and follows up with an email, 23,000 Yen for two nights accommodation & ticket.

Ah, ok so it would be 48,000 for both people and two tickets. Sweet. I was wondering if it was that as a deposit and then a secondary amount afterwards. Might call them and see... thanks heaps.

just to let you know - at this stage you can only get the package of hotel + ticket. once they have sold out (100 packages), then it'll be open for booking just the room. and don't worry, there will be plenty of rooms / options available. i do not yet have accommodation sorted, i'm waiting until the early birds are done.

and if you do get one of these hotel + ticket packages, and have also email myself or the labyrinth organisers, can you please email us and let us know. this event is limited capacity, so we don't want to have your name listed twice.

hope that all makes sense. looks like there are going to be at least 20-30 people coming from australia...

Getting in on this action.

Will be pushing my luck re time off work and may fall behind on mortgage repayments, but Kangding Ray and Function has me convinced. Planning to head over solo and camp, so look forward to hooking up with the ITM crew for a couple of days!
