But the funny thing is that this thread has had 1900+ views. So even if every one who has posted viewed it 20 times, there are still a lot of lurkers on this site.

Has FB turned everyone from particpants to voyeur's?

It seems you just don't get that any more. Where the fuck is there to go? Where's all the regular type of crowd that used to peak at those hours, and look forward to the scene? That's right, sitting at the cas at 5am in the morning iced up playing pokies.

every man woman and their dog does not give a fuck about the scene. they all know that their favourite poofter with a pair of cdj's is going to be playing on the main stage at the next future or parklife

Where is there to go?

58's and Red's?! Lol...

Much rather kick back at a mates place for the Sunday sesh. 58's I refuse to step foot in, and Red's I absolutely hate.

Bring back my beloved Rise haha

Pretty sure that post was referring to venues that are open at 5am (agreeing with your earlier post Papa Nick - saying prefer to kick back at someones house)
By the way Papa Nick, are you related at all to Papa Sven?

actually if i was onion magazine i'd be looking at starting a forum and doing it properly...they have the content and the right people...[/quote]

We did talk about doing this some years back but decided not to do it, as we thought forums were on their way out with Facebook and everything. And nothing looks worse than an empty forum. We might revisit this notion though. As has been mentioned, in Adelaide the one forum that is extremely healthy is Adelaide Massive. Khem does a great job with that and they have a nice community going.

Given the amount of time most people have been on this forum (Me included) the post count is not really that high.

Ha what LC said! I'm sat in sunny (it's raining) Qld espousing how great SA scene is when it appears I am harking on the past. Shame

Hey all, just thought I'd update you all re: comments about a lack of someone in the State Coordinator role.
I've been in contact with Tim Hardaker (former ITM General Manager and current Partnerships Director for Sound Alliance/ITMs parent company).
The State Coordinator role has been discontinued nationwide due to a lack of perceived benefit and difficulty with managing people across the country. The general tasks of organising contributors and marketing is basically being handled by people at ITM HQ.
Tim also commented on the general trend of people being less engaged with forum discussion due to many of these conversations now happening in other places such as Facebook. So ITM's prime focus of late has been on new content video/audio/articles/photos etc
So basically if we want this forum to be thriving we really need to do it by making interesting threads and generating interesting discussion.

I still check here every few weeks/months I just don't have anything to post anympore haha.. Like LC said this place used to be awesome.. till Raveadelaide came along. I still see a lot of the faces from here around on the rare occasions I'm anywhere other then The Old Exchange. Shit Fabric are doing a 10 year reunion show in October, should be most of the old ITM crew out then.

The James Holden thread from years ago is brilliant, 20 + pages I think it was.

What she said - there was a big crew of us always posting. Itm died in the arse when RA came along and never really recovered. I now live in Brisbane so mostly check out that forum but don't worry it's pretty much as dead as this one and the bogan ratio is way higher and therefore harder to deal with when posting.

lol good thread. its ok, i have decided to get back into the forums and stuff, hate being a granny at home so will be trying to cover more stuff too. i dont think adelaide is missing out on new types of music and shows, rocket bar and cuckoo are doing their fair share of promoting and hosting some really amazing artists/producers outside of dnb, house in particular... martyn's show at rocket bar was amazing, some cool new talent from adelaide on show (dj/producers) and cuckoo's carter bros and co always have really fresh tunes.

the scene is adelaide has just microcosmed a little, i think there are so many crossovers now that sometimes the good shows arent going to be in a club, but perhaps a laneway or warehouse party instead...
