Whos still mixing vinyl in Adelaide and where ?
OK so recently i have found myself with free time again and decided to get back into mixing. I sold my cdj's when i was after money to build my house (mistake) but instead of buying cdjs again i got 1200's. I am actually loving mixing vinyl and thinking about getting serato as well so the bank balance isn't hurt to much with wax. But the question is, who is still playing out with vinyl ? I head to town a bit but there seems to be a lack of turntables. I sometimes help a mate mix at distil on sat night but they only have 1 tt ? let me know

We use vinyl at Cushdy every Friday (Traktor DVS). Same problem i can't really afford to buy enough vinyl to satisfy my needs these days and I have shelled a small fortune on vinyl over the years. Fortunately I have never sold any of it so I can always go digging through the crates when I feel like it.
There are a lot of venues that only have CD now. Which kind of makes me laugh because CD is a dead format anyway. CD sales are declining rapidly in favor of MP3. Just like vinyl the only people who use CD's now are DJ's.

so you're saying Djs are the only people that use vinyl? What about all the other non-dance genres? There's still plenty of collectors out there buying classical/jazz/rock/soul etc

Yeah there are but as a percentage of music listeners is not much at all. There will always be people who collect and listen to vinyl, CD, 8 Track even lazer disc.
It was much more of a general comparison.

True that nenad...and really the way I see it those that the learnt the craft on vinyl are the ones still mixing on vinyl and those that love the true sound of vinyl and analogue...but each to their own...

Elysium only have turntables.... I know The Old Exchange has turntables too, I've just never seen them used as anything other then a place to put CDs.
