Derpy is registered, if he will compete is another thing though. His legs are still a little tender.

Giny's + 1 has a team going in it as well.

i don't think the obstacles will be "easy as fuck" for someone who can barely do a couple of pullups

I've entered. Was a bit worried about getting up to speed fitness wise but I see it's only 15km.

Meh, I kinda agree with him, none of the obstacles are prohibitively hard from a physical sense. If you're happy getting cold and wet, I suspect you'll be fine.

In isolation, maybe. After 10 clicks and 15 other obstacles though?

Check out the actual obstacles on the site, they are all wading through water or climbing up nets and that kind of thing. I reckon they're more about endurance and determination than crazy ahtletic prowess. There are one or two that look a bit tough but with all of them, if you fall off, you just end up in the drink.

The last few obstacles seem to consist of going over and under logs, wading through a swamp and running through electric shocks. Crazy but relying on endurance rather than massive athleticism.

I'm not saying it will be "easy as fuck" like Derelict but I also don't think you have to be a Tapout 2000 to get through it ok.

But thats kind of the thing. There is an obstacle every km, where you'll probably have to line up, wait etc...

Anyway, should be good fun....I don't think I'll get in anything like the training Ben is talking about...will just be in it to finish

Yeah from what gotamangina's husband said, the running legs are usually about 500m, maximum a km. I'm going to give it my best. If I dont finish it, so be it. I really want to get out and start running training though, silly legs. I'm almost over my shin problems now I think, will definitely go for a run on Saturday.

Interesting to see how Derpy goes given from what I've gathered that he had next to no (running) training leading up to this barring the metcons he started doing this week.

I have been playing indoor soccer once a week for about 8 months now, which is amazing cardio.

I had enough fitness for what was required. I think we ran about 70% of the course. I ran about 4km non stop at least once id say. Next time i do it i will make sure i run the entire thing, except maybe the parts that are mega pot holed and cause busted ankles.

I maanaged to walk the plank without falling, and nailed the monkey bars first go. Only part i really struggled was the short swim, too hard with clothes on and my very poor swimming ability, had to be rescued cause i was swimming in the spot lol

Did it.

I did ok, got blisters on my feet about 5 k's in and I was battling patellofemoral pain in my left knee. The pain slowed me down a bit but I popped a few voltaren on course. Cramped up a lot as well. Only started training for this about 3 months ago. Still not what you'd classify as fit but not unhealthy. Just normal.

Hard as fuck. But i did it with 8 other mates, all who are generally a lot fitter than I am. They got me through it. Helped me climb the berlin walls and what not. Physically i thought the toughest was the crawl under the barb wire. It's a fair distance and i couldn't get on my knees unlike other "crawling" obstacles.

The other was the 5 metre drop into the pond. I accidentally took in some water on the way in, struggled at the start but calmed down and made it to the pontoon in the middle of the pond. After that i was able to compose myself and get to the far bank. The swim isn't that far but it is cold and you are clothed so it can be daunting.

Mostly it's a lot of trekking through mud. The mud climb was ridiculous, having to use yourself as a chain to get your mates up. Very tough to negotiate by yourself so be prepared to rely on fellow mudders to help.

Every other obstacle can be challenging but not physically so. Definitely more an endurance thing. I've never ran 20k's in my life let alone throwing in obstacles but if you're a runner used to going a fair distance then you'll be ok.

Got up Everest (half pipe) on the first go, managed to run up and grab the ledge. A beefcake locked on to my other wrist and helped me up. Mad dog.

Got zapped once in electroshock, didn't hurt, just a slight zap but I sprinted through it trying to dodge as many hanging lines as possible.

Oh yeah, there is a shit load of mud. And then just to rub it in they throw more mud obstacles at you.
Good day prospective employer, I am both smarter than a hatful of periwinkles and prettier than two bags of smashed assholes. Fail to employ me at your own risk.

Awesome, that's what I expected. What time did you all start? We're starting early because we figured there'd be less back up on obstacles that way.
