$20 el cheapo from k-mart FTW

4 years, still going strong. Cops a fair beating at work, constantly used underwater and has been taken to depths of up to 10m. Was once chewed up and shat out by a rhinoceros.

My missus likes bigger, man kind of watches. In respect to that, I got her this for our anniversary last year:

Fucking love Tissot.

I've taken a liking to the Speedmaster Moonwatch Co-Axial Chronograph for my 30th that comes up later this year. But at >$7000 I don't know if I can justify it. Such a beautiful piece.

^ that's tasty as fuck!

Added this to my collection while in the States:

Pete Gordon - Deep and Low

Slower tempo but still with balls, deephouse, slow-mo, futurehouse, nudeep, indie, nudisco, hints of progressive, whatever the fuck you want to call it, just good shit! Get on it

Well a collection wouldn’t be the right word to use, more like 5 nice watches and the others are ok

However the navy blue and gold Michael korrs number has taken my fancy, but I dont think I could pull it off

Looking into a wedding present. I know my man likes this, but it doesn't seem quite 'wedding'.

He does like this rose gold thing that's seems to be about to be big, and brown.
Likes bright colours, dancing, soft fabrics.

Looking at getting a new watch for my 30th Bday, I have 4 Nixon's already, so will probably get another. I have always brought Leather bands but I find they are a bit sweat inducing during summer.

I findthat the metal link bands grab onto my copious arm hair. Does anyone have suggestions on an appropriate band type or a brand that has different band types as I am not sure I want get another leather band

maybe if its for your 30th, splurge a little and get one a bit better than a Nixon? (I'm not a nixon hater, I have one myself but they aren't exactly the finest in watches.)
i reckon keep an eye out for an interesting brand that is hard to find in australia, rather than something that everyone else wears.

I have a SVT FW44 from Tsovet (have posted it before in here), have never seen anyone else in australia wearing one. I love the military look of their stuff...

http://www.tsovet.com/

Agreed with the metal links, I bought a Casio digital watch online and rarely wear it now because the links pinch my arm hair at the most inappropriate times
I should sell it to some hipster, General Pants sell the same one as mine for $120 when i got it for $30 from ebay!
I have a Seiko 5 Military with a woven nylon band that is really comfy, waterproof etc. Though it's self-winding so it stops after 2 days if you don't wear it.

Cheers Kasper, might do some research into Alternative brands, I know very little about watches.

The woven nylon band sounds good, will check some out. Appreciate your help.

Nice looking watch, had never heard of that brand before.
If I was gonna spend silly amounts of money on a watch, I reckon I'd get a Bell & Ross... so nice.

Never heard of Hublot? I'm not a watch person and I know about them (though I'm a F1 and Hiphop person and they get lots of mentions in those areas)

Was cleaning out the ceiling cavity, came across some stuff of my grandfathers... Scored a new dress watch... nothing too fancy, but nice to have something of my grandfathers Very similar to this... though he bought it in the 60s, so its slightly different.

I've got a Tsovet in a different model (posted above) and love it. People constantly comment on how cool it looks and one of the best things as you said is hardly anyone is wearing them. Cheap too but well built.

Just checked out the Tsovet line of watches based on this thread, very nice aeronautical/military gauge style watches! Pity most of the styles I like from them are only offered in a quartz movement.
Considering getting a Xetum Stinson...a bit exxy at close to 1k but at least i won't have to rob a bank.

Trying to decide on first serious watch.

Narrowed it down to 2 Omega's.

Seamaster Aqua Terra with 8500 movement
http://www.omegawatches.com/gents/se...23110392103001

or

Seamaster Planet Ocean with 8500.
http://www.omegawatches.com/gents/se...23230422101001

Leaning towards the PO just because I love the dive watch idea but not sure if it is maybe too large (42mm) and possibly too thick for everyday wear with a suit.

Originally had also looked at Breitling Super Ocean heritage in 42 with black bezel, white dial on mesh
and Nomos Orion.

Thoughts appreciated.
