Choose 5 photos that make you go wow
Alright, so the aim here is to pick 5 shots (by anyone, including yourself if you like) that really demonstrate the very best of photography. Any genre is cool, it just needs to be a photo that makes you happy, sad, confused, outraged or any other emotion. I'll kick it off with some photos that really do it for me.

James Nachtwey - Ruins of Central Grozny

Steve McCurry - Timbuktu, Mali

Bruce Gilden - Yakuza

Larry Burrows - Reaching Out

David Noton - Moraine Lake

Gemini Jamming - Gavin Oliver

Kora @ The Gaelic Club - Joel Courtney

Cycle touring - Mark Watson

Ourimbah Impact - Dave Bateman

Araps Inversion - Dave Bateman

Dave Bateman (Lenuge on Flickr) is easily one of my favourite photogs. Just about everything he posts on flickr is amazing.

First one I think was from a National Geo comp.

Last one was done by this guy; http://www.flickr.com/photos/maianer...th/6761209125/ -- his water drop stuff is sick! (thx Ville, iirc)

oh yeh, it was on this website! http://www.thisiscolossal.com/ really cool art and photography stuff... i got lost for hours there last time...

"So I carve landscapes out of books and I paint Romantic landscapes. Mountains of disused knowledge return to what they really are: mountains. They erode a bit more and they become hills. Then they flatten and become fields where apparently nothing is happening. Piles of obsolete encyclopedias return to that which does not need to say anything, that which simply IS. Fogs and clouds erase everything we know, everything we think we are."
