His first release came thanks to a remix contest organized by FOEM and the famous Italian DJ Rino Cerrone.

Actually, “Exnovo” (Mazel Source remix) is one of the best sellers on Rilis Records, also played by Richie Hawtin. After winning several contests on the same site (FOEM), he started a carrier with his own productions, with 2 EP already signed.

Paula Chalup & Audio Go - Rebirth | Remixes | Video PGZ174

Paula Chalup known as DJ Paula, has always been interested in electronic music, attending constantly parties and clubs influenced by the Brazilian pioneering DJs such as Mau Mau and Renato Lopes.

From 1995 on, she decided to take a chance on the job, playing at private parties. Encouraged by DJ Mau Mau, she started playing professionally in 1996 and soon became a resident DJ at Hell's Club (where electronic music in So Paulo boomed). In the same year she received the best revelation DJ prize from "Os Melhores da Noite Ilustrada" (Folha de So Paulo), from the writer Erika Palomino, as a recognition of her ability with the decks.

After that she was invited to play at the best clubs in So Paulo, such as Latino, B.A.S.E., Kashmir, Sound Factory and Kintamani, and at the best raves of the country, such as Xxxperience, Fusion, Avonts, Tecnolgica, Gaia Rave and Resistance. In 1997 she went to London with DJ Mau Mau and got involved with the label Cluster (Cris Liberator and Julian Liberator), improving her knowledge. In 1998, she became a resident DJ of one of the main clubs in So Paulo, Lov.e Club and Lounge, where she played every Saturday at Combustvel project for 5 years.

At Lov.e Clubs monthly Lov.e Express Party she played with famous international DJs like Monica Kruser, Darren Emerson, Funk D'avoid, Mathew Bushwacka B! and Darren Price. She also played beside artists like Laurent Garnier, Kevin Saunderson and Julian Liberator. She was a resident DJ at the extinct Jazzy and Stereo clubs, and performed at big events like Skol Beats, MTV Party and Carlton Dance.

Paula has an unmistakable style and precise mixing technique, which helped her release her first promotional CD, Paula Vol.I, concluded in M4J studio, and that had excellent reviews by the audience and the press, such as "onSpeed" and "DJ Sound" magazines and Folha de So Paulo newspaper. Paula often plays in So Paulo at clubs like A Loca, Overnight, D-Edge, Manga Rosa, Ampgalaxy, Ultralounge; and in other cities of the So Paulo state, like Ribeiro Preto (Samanea), Santos, Guaruj, Taubat (Divina), Maresias, Campos do Jordo, So Carlos, Indaiatuba (Zoff) and also all over Brazil: Rio de Janeiro, Manaus, Campo Grande (Nocturna), Recife, Bzios, Belo Horizonte (Josefine), Florianpolis (Caf Cancun), Guaratuba (Caf Curaao), Curitiba (Heaven), Porto Alegre (Neo e The Farm), Natal (Electroland), Camboriu, Cuiab (Getlio Dance) and Trancoso.

In July 2002 she performed in Bogot (Colombia). And in June 2003, she performed in Paris at Open House party and at La Musique - in the most important day of music in France, at a tent for thousands of people. She was also a resident DJ at 1234U project, monthly in Pix, now club 13.

Paula is also investing on her producer career: she released, in a partnership with DJ and producer Philip Braunstein, the label Special Series. The launching party took place at Lov.e Club in October 2003, with the presence of DJ Adam Jay. In 2004, she kept her residency at Combustvel project (at Lov.e club) and managed to play at several capitals of Brazil, spreading her name even more outside So Paulo. In the same year, she released a remix track for the City of God soundtrack, a project that gathered a number of important Brazilian producers, such as Mau Mau, Renato Cohen, Camilo Rocha, Pet Duo, Murphy and herself.

Along with other renowned DJs, Paula released a track for the Love for So Paulo CD. After 7 years as a resident at Lov.e club, Paula moved on to pursue new paths. She started a Saturday residency at Vegas Club, the new cool spot of electronic music in So Paulo. The party is called Mafia and gathers eclectic beats, from house to old school hip hop. She's also a resident at CIO party, every Wednesday at D-Edge, one of the most famous clubs in Brazil, and maintains a Friday residency at Manga Rosa club, along with DJ Claudinho I.

A big fan of music, she couldn't resist the wonders of Final Scratch, despite being officially an obsessive vinyl collector. Speaking of which, her latest label release, Obsessive Love, was sold out after only 3 weeks at Juno.co.uk virtual record shop and became part of the playlists of DJs such as Carl Cox, Mauro Piccoto and Umek. For 2007, she plans to release a "2" vinyl on her label Special-Series.

Rektchordz remix voted tune of the month in Mixmag!

Exclusive at: BEATPORT

Supported by Stupid Fresh, Far Too Loud, Taster Peter, Meat Katie, Lee Coombs, Dylan Rhymes, Prosper, The Dolphins, Malente and many more!

Anthony James has been a close friend of ours at Death Proof Recordings for some time.
His music knowledge and skill preceed him: accomplished engineer, producer and DJ, he's played alongside the best (Alan Fitzpatrick, Tim Green, Audiojack) and had his music played by the best (Claude Vonstroke, Richie Hawtin, Paco Osuna).
He's already hit us with a stunning remix in the shape of Machine Electrique's 'La Machine', but this time around, his original work takes front stage!

The lead track 'Brazil' encompasses a deep-melodic bass, a stunning collection of monstrous yet emotive synths and atmospherics and his signature tighter-than-a-duck's-backside drumline!
His second effort 'Blanked' goes into deeper than deep-house territory, cheeky 70's and 90's samples and wailing synths lace a stabby, funk fuelled groover that is guaranteed to go down well with any dancefloor!

Undertaking remixes on 'Brazil' is the irrepressible Rektchordz, booming out yet another broken masterpiece; rasping and cutting the enigmatic samples laid out before him, he's made quite possibly the most intelligent breaks track to step off the Death Proof gang-plank yet. Brace yourself for the breakdown!

Next we have the American techno-geist Lightknife, hitting us with a true lazer show of a track, booming electro-techno leads the way with radiant, jaw-dropping builds & breakdowns. Prepare to peel yourself off the ceiling!

Parisian Mellow, long-time contributor of fellow French phenoms Air, Alex Gopher and Etienne De Crécy's Superdiscount, surprises us with a handsome and inspiring piece of psychedelic electronica: bass guitars, wailing sitar-sounding undercurrents and a massive lead electric guitar take over to great effect. It has to be heard to be believed!

And last but by no means least, American tech-funker Stephen Cole hits 'Blanked' like it didn't see it coming. Taking the original clean off its feet, he's churned out a gargantuan remix: booming bass and kicks are surrounded by a twitching conga rhythm, stabs flare through out and a haunting vocal arrangement surrounds you from every angle!

What a way to start the new year!

Happy 2012 from Death Proof Recordings.

The Zars - Klimt Eastwood EP | Incl. Video PGZ176

Coming from Italy, The Zars are a dance-electronic duo formed by Alex Tessarolo and pAd. Both artists focuses to play only vinly in their DJ sets adding different sources to performance their own productions with live vocals support.

Their sets move easily from techno-dub to house connected by a deep and dedicated raw touch getting a new level with Detroit House sound. Zars' music is made of contrasts and oppositions that tend to create rather than destroy: club stuff vs chamber music, techno vs house, black vs white, a Mediterranean pounding heart vs a northern European mind-set the past and the future, that contrast better known as the present.

The Zars have played at several venues in Rome like the ones of Brancaleone, Circolo degli Artisti, Muzak, NYlon, Atelier 35, Locanda Atlantide, Roma Vintage, Nissan Juke Energy Village, and the RGB events with guests like Octave One and Joris Voorn at Brancaleone in winter 2010.

Debutant the Zars delivers on the Progrezo Records 175th installment, their brand new EP Klimt Eastwood, featuring two original tracks of sophisticated Techno beats, infected with Detroit House elements.

'Klimt Eastwood' opens the spectrum with hypnotic ride-hats releasing a dynamic tech rhythm along with an infected male voice over solid kick-drum, bringing a progressive environment of trippy acid-techno with strong bass-line and psychedelic synth shades.

Definitely a track that brings together cutting-edge ambience and stomped rhythm with high quality elements from modern techno-beats next to best Detroit spirit, characteristic of the last century.

'Matteo' starts with elegance calm, doing a subtle break to prepare its music arsenal for a trippy tech journey. Infected and malicious, it drives through different states adding mad acid-synth lines, sick voices and percussion-rides, surrounded by a vacuum ambience aimed straight to the dance floor.

A memorable track for classy techno DJ sets.

Video-Clip:

Gare Mat K has been remixed by some of the "on fire" producers within the finest electronic music worldwide industry, including Alex Dolby, best Beatport' Minimal artist in 2009 Alex Young and Ben Coda. Techy-Dynamic-atmospheric, his productions are played around the world, achieving support from world top Djs the likes of Sasha, Timo Maas, Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, Tom Pooks, Pole Folder, Anthony Pappa, Randall Jones, Flash Brothers, Eelke Kleijn, Kosmas Epsilon, Kasey Taylor and Pole Folder, only to name a few.

His mixing skills and impeccable DJ technique have been the key to compile 3 different CD mixes and numerous of Digital compilations and radio shows, showcasing the best of his repertoire along with exclusive productions from some of the most wanted artists world over and tomorrows best talents.

Mihael Keehl´s relation with sound begins in 2003 (just after his degree in architecture), in the scenographic city of Venice when he was working as a sound artist, experience that inspired his interest for creating sounds formerly in a more experimental way and latter, for the electronic dance scene.

Perhaps it was the lack of an electronic music scene in Venice what took him from a deep musical research right forward to what was his underneath passion. After more than three years of isolation and experimental work in the romantic floating city he moves to Barcelona looking for a more active place. The citys overwhelmed electronic scene taught him a lot and was the playground for his former productions and his first Live Project under the name of anLog. In 2009 he was back to Bogota, his natal city, where he took his Live sets all over sometimes fighting against the city mainstream commercial venue.

Mihael Keehl´s approach to sound relates to certain architectural concepts, where structure and space become central to his sonic exploration, all with an intention to create states of mood and the fluctuation of different emotions in the brain; mental and sophisticated music for the dance floor, "the space for the ritual of the self and the other, alone and together under common vibes."

He argues the lack of a formal musical background to be the foundation of his sound, there's no musical idea behind, rather a rough experimentation with sound and the primitive concept of the beats which had no further scope than to create cohesion within the social structure through repetitive and hypnotic vibes. His sound oscillates between minimal and techno stile, but sometimes it can be very diverse.

Video-Clip:

On stage he is characterized for filling the space with good vibes with his particular style playing live or by arranging a dj set full of original tracks and remixes with the only aim of having fun and move your bone!

Progrezo Records is pleased to presents Gare Mat K & Mihael Keehl 2xDJ mix in early 2012 !!

Henry Effe - Dirty EP | top notch italy techno PGZ180 Video

Henry Effe was born in South of Italy in Brinidisi (Puglia). At age of 12 he felt something particular about music, becoming it on his passion of life. After having bought his first turntables, he began practicing something that will call all of his attention, Electronic Music.

Being young, he moved to North of Italy with his parents where he met with other electronic music enthusiasts to refine Dj skills and to create his own music style, mixing the old House and Minimal stuff with the recent Tech Sounds. With things much more clear and a horizon to watch, he started playing at private parties and small clubs until an Italian promoter saw his attributes and brings him a proposal to work at one of the big and famous clubs in Italy.

Now the story has began and he found massive support and respect from clubbers and the North of Italy media, becoming popular within the electronic music scene as DJ.

On December 2010 he teamed up with John Trinidad to explore a new music project called Cloudiness, starting to produce Tech House and Techno for several labels around the world.

Henry Effe is debuting on Progrezo Records with 3 original tracks of unstoppable Tech House and Techno beats, packaged in his new Dirty EP.

`Dirty' as Eps called, deliver an energetic techy house rhythm along with subtle percussions and dirty bass-line weapon, bringing to the dance-floor the necessary kick to stand up the crowd. Infected by wide effects and surreal synths, it is a useful track aimed straight to Dj sets with Tech and Tech House attitude.

'Flash' introduces us in a journey of high tech atmospheres accompanied by unstoppable ride of hats and sick bass line, brining tension with mad atmospheres and dry lead synth. The break-time comes with music spank, adding the necessary tools to make a memorable piece of cake in the party.

'Kemio' start with suggestive percussion and evolving tech-kick bringing peak-time ambience with solid rhythm. Bass line comes to destroy the mind and moves the crowd at same time. Break comes with huge mystery, revealing the dancers a bomb under the sleeve. So far it is a high quality tech tool aimed straight for top notch DJ sets.

Here we have a solid EP that for sure will call world attention within the modern and big rooms electronic music scene !!

079-HM MGMX | Underground Feelings EP | Hype Muzik

Hanut,Belgium is the destination for release #79 on Hype Muzik as we are pleased to introduce to you MGMX (aka Lionel Weets) and his debut for us entitled "Underground Feelings EP" featuring four Original techno tracks.

More on MGMX

Everything started for Lionel Weets alias MGMX or MAGMAX at the age of 12 when he got introduced to the vibes of the most underground electronic sounds such as Acid, Techno, Detroit Electro, Wave, … and to some pioneers such as Carl Craig, Kirk Degiorgio, Joey Beltram, Derrick May, Juan Atkins, Jeff Mills, the Underground Resistance Crew, Woody McBride, Neil Landstrumm, DJ Godfather, Drexcya, Aphex Twin … MGMX was directly dropped into the best side of electronic music.

Some years later, the time to party had come and MGMX started travelling all over Belgium to party, meeting people and improving his electronic music knowledge. Real addict of techno and acid music, MGMX slowly focused on techno music which slowly became more a way of life than a simple music love for him...

MGMX started producing seriously when he met Josh Love, French techno producer known for his top-charts-tracks, owner of Kazoo Records, BackSpin, Starstraxx and Lift’In who taught him a lot of things about music production and helped him to improve really well.

MGMX was working hard, staying in his studio to improve and get skilled enough to develop his own style and achieve his objectives… His main styles were tribal techno and funky/disco techno, developing is own funky touch. Everything went really fast and Lionel released several EPs and tracks on some digital labels.

A few months later, a new step was coming! After a small inactivity while he was finishing his e-business bachelor studies, it was high time for a second step in MGMX career. He was almost living and sleeping in his studio and the results spoke for themselves: He started signing releases on several vinyl labels such as Patterns Special Series, Patterns Serie-X, Beatform, Kazoo, … . And also released EP’s on leading labels in the funky and tribal scenes such as Adult, Patterns, Fer Br’s own Funk Me Recordings, Drakos Recordings, …
He was also one of the most active producers on his mastering engineer Bitch Bros’ Guilhotina Records with 2 EPs, several “Various Artists” compilations and a few remixes.

During these months, MGMX has also remixed producers such as Elton D, Fer Br, Lia Organa and Electric Prince, Steel Grooves, …

A few months later, in 2011, a real resurrection started! Lionel decided to take a new direction in his career and to come back to his roots… As a real addict of the Detroit sounds, he planned since the beginning of his producer career to start making Detroit Techno and Chicago House and he finally felt he was ready, skilled and creative enough for a new era. After a few months of hard work and the construction of a new production studio, his first Detroit tracks were ready and got directly signed to some influent labels.

MGMX has been supported by dj’s/producers such as DJ 3000, Armin Van Buuren, Mark Schulz, Trevor Rocklife, Fer Br, David Moleon, Aka Carl, Pedro Delgardo, Reaky,, DJ Murphy, Raul Mezcolanza, Du’Art, Goncalo M, Peppelino, Josh Love, Wyrus, Vestax, Paula Cazenave, Dj Link, Vortechtral, Aitor Ronda, Reaky, Veztax, Dj Cristiao, Gaspar T, Rydel, Goncalo M, Steel Grooves, Bitc Bros, Sean Place, ckos, Prude Polly, Patrick DSP,

Ruca Apple - Life Out A Fantasy [Insomniafm Records]

Ruca Apple - Life Out A Fantasy

"Life Out A Fantasy" is the second release on Ruca's new imprint, offer no compromise to the uninitiated, but the record should be warmly received by fans eager to hear some gritty new stuff from the her vibes. Ruca Apple continues to inspire people as a producer/dj with what many define as a “bold and delicate” sound that is always delivered with lovely looks and a charming killer smile.

Turn it up and you'll hear how every third kick is accented, and while other percussive elements play out in common time, the emphasis is firmly on the polyrhythmic hypnosis created between those drums and a nervous rash of offbeat bleeps. Ruca Apple handles the sounds on the flip, and he opts for a heavily swung 4/4 rhythm that sounds just a bit smoother than the original. Still, her effort holds more peak-time potential: among the jagged chords and creepy-crawly bits of sound that scale upward and downward and she slowly lets loose a series of climactic choruses. The aim of the tracks is obvious—to modulate your brain until it's a pile of mush on the dance floor—and these "Life Out A Fantasy" have
clearly hit the right frequencies.

This second album of Ruca Apple is even more driving, losing the wiry synth in favour of supernatural atmospherics and a simpler off-beat stabbing. The tracks are relatively simple, but they're so well put together that you may believe otherwise despite the complete absence of percussion early on. It also feels like an impending stampede.

Energun (Belarus)

Distinctive sound of the 90's with classic analogue Techno and lots of acid infused synthesis.
“Robo Eclecticism” shows a new sound for the Energun project from Belarus with 4 tracks of
analogue based madness. All tracks are very metallic in their appearance and non conformist in direction.

'Robo Eclecticism' EP has been released recently at beatport, amazon, itunes and many other download shops on teh web.
Check out your fav site for a copy, thanks for the support!

Having teamed with 'The Trooper', Javid Ghersi close this EP with best of techno ambiance and 'Working of System', revealing huge minimal textures, stomped techno beats, imposing bass-line over ace voice touch, these producers release strong tension with precise dynamism for peak-time' DJ sets.

Here we have an upfront EP written and produced by two of the most qualified talents since over a decade in Venezuela to watch !!

[ARMAB027] P.God - Sedna / Ghouls EP

P.God (Italy)

This release is based on dark-ambient sound structures of the modern club music. Without any theorizing
you can guess what kind of release is this one on Armatura Records 27th chapter. Cold, claustrophobic,
and dynamic...The tracks Sedna and Ghouls abound with repetitive droning, while metal synth passages
properly incorporate the composition. Sedna – Dialect remix is a composition which shows the true way of
how to shuffle industrial sounding track. At the end, there is Ghouls - Scalameriya devoured remix. With
a break-beat layered kick spaced segments and fx plays ,it’s a one quality metal remix for this release.

OUT: [IFMR051] Ruca Apple - Live Out A Fantasy

Ruca Apple - Live Out A Fantasy

"Live Out A Fantasy" is the second release on Ruca's new imprint, offer no compromise to the uninitiated, but the record should be warmly received by fans eager to hear some gritty new stuff from the her vibes.

The aim of the tracks is obvious—to modulate your brain until it's a pile of mush on the dance floor—and these "Live Out A Fantasy" have clearly hit the right frequencies.

Lukasz Napora - Lone Song incl Lank, Daniel Mehes + | PGZ185

After no less than 5 months polishing this gem, the Progrezo Records family is back with the long awaited release from Polish’ artist, Lukasz Napora, who has long been associated with the electronic music industry as active journalist for various media outlets over more than 10 years.

Along with his brother, he used to run one of Poland’s most prestigious music sites called Sound Revolt, which due to its bilingualism was a great contact point between the local scene and foreign labels and artists, bringing him a wide experience and respect within the electronic music movement.

Today, he is mainly recognized for his work at Audioriver one of the World’s top summer festivals according to Resident Advisor. He’s the spokesperson, marketing director and is co-responsible for the program of this event. You can also hear him every Thursday on Polish Radio 4 where he presents two hours of his music selection. It’s safe to say that this show is currently one of Poland’s most popular underground dance music broadcasts.

Over the years Lukasz has interviewed a vast scope of artists from Hernan Cattaneo, Timo Maas, Richie Hawtin, Luciano, Dubfire, James Holden, Moderat, DJ Hell through Tiesto, Fedde Le Grand, Sebastian Ingrosso, Kosheen, Groove Armada to Sepultura, Alice In Chains, Rammstein, Editors, Alan Wilder, Yeasayer and White Lies. This diversity reflects his taste in music broad and practically without borders. He loves surprising his audience so be sure not to expect anything from his upcoming productions.

As producer, Lukasz’s second release shows his lyrics potential with “Lone Song”, as result of over 10 years of unstoppable work since when he used to sing in a nu metal band, but nevertheless, the rock influences are quiet still present on his music especially as it song proves.

The whole track was written and produced by Lukasz. This goes to the lyrics as well. The songs is about a lonely girl who’s dreaming about a guy she met very briefly saw him in an elevator, met him at a party. The twist is Lukasz is singing from the girls perspective.

With suggestive atmosphere and defined by Lukasz as electro-acoustic with a clubby feel but without intend to make it work in clubs, "Lone Song 'has an unstoppable pace with hypnotic guitar-riff surrounded by Lukasz imposing voice as perfect match between rhythm and ambiance. Lukasz bring a majestic union in an unforgettable song.

Here Daniel reveals a mad journey of avant-garde techno mood already tested on modern dance-floors with class of attitude to break the night.

Leo Leite (Brazil) known by his important collaborations as sound engineer including Sasha’s Invol2ver cdmix, Leo features a groovy-house mix using by kind of creativity and precision the original synth and lyrics, in addition to his solid bass-line, becoming it in a precious pearl in any and every DJ set. A class mix aimed straight for open sky parties and club times.

Spanish duo Akasoundsite who has gained respect and an army of followers within the music industry by its releases at top of charts including Beatport, besides massive support from top DJ names, delivers an impeccable dub techno mix with solid beat for peak-time sets. Using the original synth in addition to Akasoundsite’ ace tools, the Spanish duo brings a magic key to let the night take a memorable breath.

An On Bast the pseudonym of Anna Suda, a Polish electronic producer whose music dots the 'i's and crosses the 't's but gives a little more sonic interest thanks to an investigative approach to production. Her music ranges from expertly crafted meditative moments of sublime electronic bliss, to dance floor friendly oddities, bringing her the honest maturity to produce electronic music already supported by Luciano, Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Jeff Milligan, Konrad Black, Alexi Delano, Stephan Bodzin and Paco Osuna among many more. Ana’s mix is crisp and solid as production, becoming a essential tool in tech-house classy DJ sets.

With the culture influence that Berlin could bring, Audiofetish (Germany) has been involved within electronic music since very young, not only dancing in some of the most commented clubs around the world, but listening and following to bands the likes of Depeche Mode among others. Nowadays, his music potential gave him the enough maturity to remix RMB, Circlesqaure, Bomb the Bass, Dapayk & Padberg, Thievery Corporation, Boris Brejcha, Robert Babicz and Audio Soul Project. His creativity and fresh proposal have been the key to reach the next level of production.

Already featured in Progrezo Records with a solid ep, as well as mentioned within the Home Video’ world remix runners with support from FOEM and SoundCloud, Darkko is back with a huge and futurist break-beat interpretation, inspired in the Lukasz' voice along with his own touch, he delivers a master-piece version for electronic music lovers as unforgettable piece is.

Mihael Keehl - Cosmetic Brain :: Remixed | PGZ186 | HighTech

The city’s overwhelmed electronic scene taught him a lot and was the playground for his former productions and his first Live Project under the name of anLog. In 2009 he was back to Bogota, his natal city, where he took his Live sets all over sometimes fighting against the city mainstream commercial venue.

Mihael Keehl’ approach to sound relates to certain architectural concepts, where structure and space become central to his sonic exploration, all with an intention to create states of mood and the fluctuation of different emotions in the brain; mental and sophisticated music for the dance floor, "the space for the ritual of the self and the other, alone and together under common vibes." He argues the lack of a formal musical background to be the foundation of his sound, there's no musical idea behind, rather a rough experimentation with sound and the primitive concept of the beats which had no further scope than to create cohesion within the social structure through repetitive and hypnotic vibes.

His sound oscillates between minimal and techno style, but sometimes it can be very diverse. On stage he is characterized for filling the space with good vibes with his particular style playing live or by arranging a dj set full of original tracks and remixes with the only aim of having fun and move your bone! Mihael Keehl’ latest album + Nihil on Progrezo Records, features seven tracks through different techno styles, ranging from deep to more melodic feels under a minimal basis including upfront names the likes of 'Cosmetic Brain'.

A memorable-trippy-acid-tech track that consolidates Mihael Keehl as one of the best rising producers born in Colombia related to avant-garde electronic music.

First on the list, Russian talent 'Samotarev' featured already within the electronic music industry with massive releases next to Shiloh, Oliver Moldan and remixed by the likes of Thomas Penton in well known imprints, delivers an unstoppable tech interpretation of 'Cosmetic Brain', using with kind of precision original synths over his stomped rhythm, aimed straight to big rooms and every top notch techno DJ set. Thoughtless Music presents...

TLM061: Daniel Ray - Night Watchman
With Pheek, Derek Marin and Zaid Edghaim remixes

Hailing from Bahrain by way of South Africa, our newest recruit displays a prodigious talent for evocative melodic interplay throughout this three tracker of classic yet ultra-modern deep house. Ray's wistful keys interlace full-bodied organ riffs on 'Retro', stirring up a transportive melancholic atmosphere without ever sacrificing sumptuous low-end. Title track 'Night Watchman' continues the theme with echoing bells and hollow pads setting the tone as rolling sub-bass keeps the adventure moving forward. On the first of three remixes, Archipel label boss Pheek flexes his skills with an edgy and hypnotic rework that toughens things up for the late night set; next up, Thoughtless alumnus Derek Marin brings his Brooklyn style to the fore with bouncing percussion and clever arrangements for the club; last but not least, Toronto upstart Zaid Edghaim combines a stripped-down approach with jacking drums for a minimalist interpretation that preserves all the depth of the original while subtly increasing its momentum. Finally, 'The Secret Carrier' showcases Ray's unique style as an array of melodic segments interlock like so many puzzle pieces, all while maintaining an impressive fluidity and cinematic narrative throughout. Perfectly crafted for both club and headphones, Thoughtless expands our roster with a special release from a promising new artist: Daniel Ray.

Paul Lyman - Dazed But Confused EP | PGZ187 UK

When Tim Sheridan describes an artist as fucking awesome bordering on the supernatural, its the cue for the rest of dance music to stand up and take notice. Such is the case with Paul Lyman whose skills as a DJ and producer are gaining increasing recognition. With releases on Sheridans Veryverywrongindeed Recordings and other labels, as well as key DJ bookings, Paul looks set to further enhance his reputation as an exciting talent.

Paul cut his teeth as resident DJ and co-promoter with Blend, one of the most successful house nights in the Midlands which ran for several years in Derby. This gave him the opportunity to play alongside the likes of Pete Tong, Danny Rampling, Yousef, X-Press 2, Justin Robertson and Terry Francis. By 2010 he was playing regularly at Gatecrasher in Nottingham supporting Faithless, Roger Sanchez and Eric Prydz, while he gained international experience with trips to Ibiza, Greece, Tenerife, Poland, Dubai, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand. There were also regular guest mixes on Galaxy FM.

Highlights of 2011 include an extended set before Sasha at Gatecrasher for which Paul received a personal note of appreciation from Sasha himself, and his London debut with the Gallery at the Ministry of Sound. Paul is renowned for his technical skills on three decks, but also for his musical programming and dedication to searching out the finest music which he delivers in an exhilarating style. The last four years have seen Paul develop his studio skills and since 2009 he has released a steady series of tracks, often in collaboration with Antonio Vendone, which have gained increasing support. Labels include Spinnin Records, Dusted Breaks, Pony Play, USB Digital, Hollister Records and MK837, while Pauls remix of D-Reams Ill Be Your Dog came in for particular attention.

Major DJ support has come from Sasha, James Lavelle, Paul van Dyk, Plump DJs, Dave Seaman, Groove Armadas Tom Findlay, Fergie, Elite Force, Alex Dolby, Jim Rivers and Rocky from X-Press 2, while Gallery resident Gavyn Mytchel has regularly played Pauls music on Ministry of Sound Radio. Excellent reviews have appeared in Mixmag, DJ mag and iDJ magazines, and Paul was the winner of the Raw Talent mix competition in iDJ.

2011 has seen Paul really get into his stride in the studio and develop a sound distinctively his own. This can be best heard in his remixes of UNKLE tracks, The Dog is Black and Heaven, with both vocal and dub versions. Its this sound that came to the attention of Tim Sheridan and led to the release of Tozer/Witchcraft on Veryverywrongindeed to substantial DJ support. The word was out and Quivver soon followed by Bloc Beatz Records. Oliver Lang has also snapped up Silent Steps and Beehive Beats, forthcoming on his Dojo Music imprint, which reflect the house side of Pauls music. The association with Veryverywrongindeed continues with Paul commissioned to remix high points from the labels back catalogue including Ghosts that Live in Her by Tim Sheridan & King Roc and Deepgrooves Creeps.

Original productions scheduled for the label include Killer and Kraftwork, as well as Sub Harmonic on Black Sheep Trax, Addiction for Crossworld Records and several more tracks currently being signed. Paul has also joined the team at Ideal Clubworld Radio and will be presenting a weekly radio show. Its all happening, in other words, and as Pauls studio prowess grows so does the demand for his DJ skills. His style travels through tech house, progressive and techno, but also throws in elements of breakbeat and dubstep. Its music for the dancefloor, but with a strong underground edge, and reflects Pauls passion and dedication to electronic dance music.

Progrezo Records 187th installment comes from the hands of British rising talent Paul Lyman, debuting in Progrezo Records with an overwhelming EP 'Dazed But Confused', consolidating his producer name within the finest electronic music industry as one of best British rising talents actually.

Nothing more accurate from Nottingham' DJ and producer, than debut in Progrezo Records' family with an epic track as 'Rong' is, reaffirming his solid music weapons by remarkable future. Here, Paul deliver a twisted techy-house beat surrounded by infected vocals and strong bass line. Extremely dynamic with enough tension, he brings a useful tool to warm up a high class music night. Wooden freedom instruments along with hypnotic keys, reveal the crowd by stomped rhythm to ensure a magic time.

'Dozed But Confuzed' as its name implies, features a solid piece to stand up the floor gaining attention by its impressive and infectious rhythm, with inequitable Paul's touch by wide percussion, groovy rhythm and sick effects. Here he brings a fresh tool for any and every kind of dance-floors, as huge and unforgettable track in peak-time DJ sets.

Hey guys, new one from myself out now.

Joe Stawarz - M17 (inc. Ambivalent Remixes) [SOMA334D]

1. M17
2. M17 (Ambivalent's Byway Mix)
3. M17 (Ambivalent's Highway Mix)
4. Grundymoth

Purchase: Soma // Beatport // More to follow... (30 April)

Quote:

Australian Joe Stawarz returns to Soma Records with a deep, delicate and thoughtful EP. Ambivalent also steps onto Soma with his first direct involvement on the label with two exquisite, but very different remixes.

Joe's previous EPs on Soma have masterfully balanced the deep, watery sounds on his Cry track, with the drive and skipping rhythm of Deep Cut. Tact and restraint are key to his productions and it shows a maturity beyond his youthful years.

M17 is one of our favourite tracks of 2012 thus far; a very classy sound indeed, where the track's intricate and refined elements sit over a complex sequence. This complicity is underpinned, with a solid and dancefloor orientated groove. Grundymoth is a different beast altogether, with a darker and rawer feel to it.

Ambivalent brings two interpretations of the M17 original. The Byways Mix turns M17 around in a very skilled manner. He changed the melody entirely, but brings his own hypnotic feel to the track. This rework is quite a trip and one for those special points in the night. The Highways Mix shows a little more weight and swagger – a sure fire winner on the floor.

Mauro Norti - Maktub EP | Massive Sound | PGZ189 - Belarus

Ivan Popov known as Mauro Norti, is a young dj and producer from Belarus. Inspired in the cinematic landscapes from Belorussia, he has involved with music since early days, getting main attention to electronic music styles the likes of Techno, Deep Techno, Tech House, Deep House, Minimal and Electronica. His brand new EP 'Maktub' is a solid prove of his perception about how to go into surreal dimensions by huge ambiances.

'Maktub' as his EP's named, means a word in Arabic about "was written," that wants to convey us is "the destiny" who marks the certain connections in our life, our soul and divine plan. 'Maktub', an emotional track from the beginning to the end. Here Mauro features the most subtle minimal textures to suggestive new-techno spirit surrounded by cinematic atmospheres, rounded by evolving atmospheres that takes us to hypnotic and astral worlds. Deep bass-lines, sweet harmonies and delicate beats make this opening key a magic window to another world.

'Waiting For You' is an outstanding melody-song that could be named as masterpiece due its composition and the music spirit it creates, bringing a notable distinction of the common "electronic music" as such, as a frame to an enchanted place surrounded by suggestive harmonies. Emotional but dynamic, Mauro suits a solid - memorable track to the night.

'Circus Under Heaven', as hypnotic and percussive it is, here Mauro show his best groovy side, delivering the necessary rhythm-touch to push up this unforgettable EP. Inviting beats with kind of sensuality with èlegant female vocals, reveals majestic organ by relaxing notes.

Exclusive at: BEATPORT

What a start to the year! Thanks to everyone for their support and votes for the nomination of Best New Label at the recent International Breakbeat Awards (Breakspoll). Also, a huge congratulations to Diablo Loco Records who were the eventual winners. Just to be shortlisted shows that our past year’s work is highly thought of, even though we're not strictly a breakbeat label.

We’d also like to welcome aboard a new label artist by the name of Ettica; to say we’re excited about releasing his work is an understatement as he’s been relentlessly shelling the Death Proof bunker over the past couple of months with bomb after bomb! His first outing is in the shape of ‘Premonition’, holding a funked-out yet moody techno groove, it's subtly laced with a haunting vocal and stunning synth work. His second offering is in the shape of the energetic and anthemic 'Is That Alright'; safe to say we at Death Proof think it's more than alright!

Typically we don’t scrimp on the remix duties, and with Ettica’s inaugural release on the label we’d thought we’d do him justice.

Australia’s finest underground export Dopamine [Disconnected, Lot49, Traum] steps up first; with him settled in his new studio we see him produce a more than healthy slab of powerful, electro-enfused techno.

Up next steps Trust The Machine [Slap Jaxx, Transmissions]. When your work is championed by the likes of Dave Clarke, you know you’re onto a winner. His efforts provide a truly raw take on techno; slowly growing like the proverbial oak it soon becomes a remix of truly awesome size!

And to finish, Holland’s crown-prince of Electro, Guido Van Santen [Satan’s Circus,Slappa Da Bass], slams home a booming bass-heavy tech-house remix that promises to damage any dance floor, not to mention eardrums!

Some DJ feedbacks:

Elite Force

Ryan Galbraith: Awesome release and great artwork. Ettica is sounding pretty fucking cool with tight production and great vibe. My favourite track is "is that alright". It's got an awesome deep bass riding the kick's with a lush summer vibe. Reminds me of my favourite Filthy Rich track "Carnivale", which was my bass tech weapon for 2010...no doubt Ettica will do the same for 2012.
Frankie Ferrell: Loving the original and dopamine remix

ALEXANDER JOHANSSON | DEMENTIA PRAECOX EP

Combining new knowledge with old ideas has always been the driving force behind Techno as new EP from Alexander Johansson suggests here. With 3 blinding tracks presenting what Alex has been doing in the shadows past years, we hear roaring sound of Sweden packed in ‘Petroil’ with nice percs and well driving groove. On a funkier floor note ‘Creeps’ is a big beat smasher which rolls out all the way. Third track ‘The Disease’ comes for the heavier heads with abrasive sound, and weird noises appearing randomly throughout. Final track is a remix by Jeff F of Subforce and it’s an interpretation of ‘Petroil’, rough, metallic, and ever bursting work full of thundering breaks. For the fans of Darker, Harder and Proper Techno mixage, dementia is here.
