awesome, thanks dude. ill be downloading them all, they really blew me away how good he was back then, not banging by any means but awesome mixing and great flow to those older mixes, real 'takes you on a journey' kinda trance.
this is what i dont get, do the big DJ's ever go back to their older stuff an actually listen to it, and realise how inspirational it all was, how pumping and euphoric it made the listener? or is it purely about getting your sound as commercial as possible to get you a good possie in the mixmag poll? fkn shame, anyway......

So I just stumbled across this thread this morning after getting an epiphany last night to start discovering the 'older' trance sound that purists so often rave about (mind you, that sound happened whilst you could still count my age using both hands or less and I had barely any internet data at that stage). Shame is, most of the links here don't work anymore (too old/Megaupload etc). Any recommendations on where I could find decent sets/albums from that time/listed here (and also, recommendations by you lot for amazing sets/albums for that matter)? And don't say Google search I've tried, pretty much every result has yielded outdated links as well, maybe I'm just too late to get on the bandwagon
^^ It all depends on what kind of sound you are looking for. Chicane's set from the Palladium, BT's livesets all seem to be very popular. If you are after some techtrance grab some old Marco V, Mauro Picotto sets. Sets from before 2000 check out PvD, Ferry and Armin.

To everyone else, would Jed be right in saying if I gave a list of what I like that's been chucked on here, you'd be willing to upload again?
And I've started listening to one of the only links that still works (ironically, the first post on this thread), I've fallen in love with trance again (after having my brain nullified eventually by most of the cheese that I used to listen to - yes, I was a devout cheese lover in '10-'11, it was the stuff that introduced me to the genre and I couldn't be bothered looking deeper til now. I'll probably always listen to some cheese sporadically though, grew up with it :/ ). If he plays a set like that at Future, I will come out of that a much happier punter than I did at Stereo
