Dub FX is a worldwide street performer and studio recording artist.Dub FX uses a Boss RC-50 Loop Station along with a GT-10 effects pedal to create vocal-only beats, and then sings & raps over the top. His music is infused with drum and bass, hip-hop and dub step influences and has the power to turn heads of all backgrounds across the world with his prolific street based performances.

After having built up a solid fan-base, he has released several records, including a solo album, Everythinks a Ripple, and many collaborative works. He still travels the world, and seems set to bring looper pedals some much deserved attention from across the genres.

Spoonbill began, as is often the case with birds of play, in the bush. Back then, though, he hadn’t grown his plumage. Back then he was simply known as Jim Moynihan and he had no feathers to speak of. What he did have, however, was a natural ear for rhythm, sound and vibe, playing kit to audiences in pubs some time before the law recognised him as a legal punter.

After completing a degree in Industrial design, he began freelancing as a product and sound designer on a broad spectrum of commercial and art-based projects that saw him exhibit his conceptual ideas in museums around the world. He won a wide range of audio production awards including the First Place and People’s Choice Award, Electrovision 2004, and Best Sound Design, 2003 in the 15/15 International Film Festival.

As well as design work, over the years he was busily honing his sonic craft and laying birth to new tracks unannounced to the outside world. In 2005 he decided to let his sonic persona take flight in the form of Spoonbill, with the debut album: Megafauna. Spoony’s iconic mix of improvised electronica, sound art aesthetics and heavily edited live instrumental recordings became an instant underground hit, the scene taking to this new Aussie direction in electronica like the collective duck to water.

Moynihan is a restless sonic author constantly defying genres and experimenting with the potential of the vast sonic canvas. He has carved a unique niche within contemporary electronic music, building a worldwide reputation for his idiosyncratic sound design and richly textured high production values.

My name is Bill however, I am currently more well known for writing and performing electronic music under the pseudonym ‘Mr. Bill’.

This project is based around evocation, I like to write music that excites the ear and the brain. This requires me to explore all sorts of strange production methods and musical theories to keep exciting my senses.

People have described the art associated with this project as a distinct brand of 8bit glitchy funk as well as an audiological reflection of our world growing ever more mechanistic which seemingly takes sounds and influences from every aspect of life and a representation of the inner workings of the quantum realm when harvested through concentration and intent.

After over 150 million years of facilitating the romance between plants, collecting delicious fragrant pollen, and regurgitating it into the sweet…. sweet nectar that we call honey…it is time.

It is time for you to lie on your side as bumble (Max Stettner) generously ladles our organic viscous liquid produce directly into your eccentric floral ear vessels.

So, whilst that is settling in, we take our hats off to you for attempting the absurd. There is NO doubt the impossible will bloom.

And it is this floral bloom and its colour, fragrance and sexual intrigue that has guided our flight so far. Using these experiences we have brooded these into a frequency of wobble which can be interpreted as 'waggle dance'.

Itsu produces music that is a little different, but also strangely familiar. Imagine breaking into your neighbor's house; you've never been in there before, so it's new and exciting, but you're used to looking in from the outside, so you sort of know your way around already. It's a bit like that, but, you know... musical.

Blending elements of Glitch, Drum & Bass, Breakcore, and Ambient, Itsu's tracks are often soothing and melodic one moment, then before you know it, you're drowning in schizophrenic breakbeats and layer upon layer of filthy, bitcrushed mayhem.

last time i was in the vacinity of mr bill he played a white noise ambinet set at laundry......the night was TECHnique [ a techno night]
Fuck that was weird.....not sure if was trying to make somekind of statement.....or he lost all his material of abelton that evening...but yeah for someone who make the most epic tunes and is so talented it was pretty weird form to get up in a room full of peeps and play white noise

On top of the $28 pre-sale ticket prices (which includes Booking Fee), these are the options that are presented:

so, let's break it down.

$25 - event cost
$3 - booking fee

$8.45 - Registered Mail

------------------------------Total: $36.45 (that's $11.45 more, for 'booking' the ticket and getting delivered by Registered Mail whereas AusPost significantly lower)




the comment which could be presented to me is: "hey, no one forced you to go"

to which i can reply "i want to go but how do i avoid paying for fees that is 32 - 45% MORE of a ticket price and that does not even contribute towards the person making the music"


those fees are pretty much what it will cost to buy any of their music directly from Bandcamp or even donate them via Flattr, etc.
(even Paypal have fees, but that's a different issue)


so, what exactly is a Booking Fee and if the event pre-sale price is $25,
then, how much would tickets be at the door on the night?

if it will be $30 or $35, then it would still be cheaper than buying pre-sale, right?

surely, you can't charge a booking fee on the night or if the human attendee is only there to admit himself and won't require any paper tickets to prove his purchase and a ink-based stamp on the fore-arm suffices?

we've spent the past two days arguing and complaining about this.
the ticketing fees are a friggin joke!
and we weren't made aware of the full extent of them until after we'd paid deposit and had everything locked in

basically, Metro has their fee (that is a small one though) for the ticketing, and then Ticketek add their fee on top. PLUS the friggin fee for emailing it to you!!!

sadly we have no choice as part of the deal of using the metro is that we use their system for ticketing.
in the past we've used our own system, which has a fee of $2 or $3 total, emails it to you, and it's done.

To make it even more awesome, tickets on the door must go through their system too!
with fees.


door price will be $50.
it would have turned out more with their added fees but we're dropping price on our end so it stays at $50 total.


very disappointed in Ticketek hey. Such fees for what is essentially a few minutes work followed by a computer doing the rest.

We can't even directly sell any tickets ourselves.
Indeed so much of the money going to ticketing fees that could be going to the artists.
I guess their system is only suited for big buck events that charge a fortune in ticket price.


meh, such is life hey. we've learnt our lesson that's for sure:/
