Just re-reading the front page of this thread again and the discussion was more interesting about online persona's and careers. I've noticed far more sites now allowing you to use your FB profile to log in an contribute, so surely it must be easier than ever for employees to find all the rubbish people put out there?

How much care do most ITM's take to conceal their tracks on social media? I know my twitter account is only connected to me by IP address, nothing else, and even on here I don't necessarily broadcast my identity (although I'm pretty fucking beige these days anyway)

No online accounts (apart from Banking and a couple of others) use my real name/details, and the email(s) i would use professionally don't link to online social media account or such.

Funnily enough i was just talking about my Linkedin account with someone this morning ... because it is & can be linked to other social media sites, i don't use it to network professionally ... apart from ITM ratbags and other similar connections. It also means i can have fun with it instead of being oh so serious and dull as most linkedin accounts are.
