Best night ever!
We arrived an hour late, just in time to catch the end of G-Na's set hearing her infectious track ‘Top Girl’.
This was brilliant timing because next up was Miss A and they opened with ‘Touch’—Holy crap! Hearing the intro to that song on a huge system was amazing, perfect to set the vibe of the night. They didn't bust out ‘Breathe’ but I'd somewhat resigned to the fact that they wouldn't anyway based on other concerts. Rocked ‘Goodbye Baby’ & ‘Bad Girl, Good Girl’ instead.
Norazo followed and they were fucking nuts. Epic backup dancing and crazy tunes, I had no idea about these guys and I was surprised how much fun they were. Secret dropped ‘Starlight Moonlight’ & ‘ShyBoy’ but the standout was their closer ‘Move’.
Then there was 2AM with a bit of a snore-fest ballad session before they had a video with some of the boys of Super Junior including Shindawg introducing the first lot of special stages. This was pretty sweet, Miss A did a cover of ‘Tell Me’ by the Wondergirls and SHINee rocked SuJu's ‘Sorry Sorry’.
IU was friggin' great, killer voice on her, and man is she tiny!
Sistar owned the stage with ‘So Cool’, ‘How Dare You’ and ‘Ma Boy’—loved seeing this, the bodyroll dance during the chorus was nuts, the crowd went crazy!
But stage of the night for me easily goes to T-Ara. Fuck me what a perfect set. ‘Bo Peep’ then ‘Roly Poly’ and to finish up with ‘Lovey Dovey’ was perfect. They were a huge hit with the crowd, and they gave a lot of fan love too!
4Minute followed and they were pretty strong too performing four songs, 'Hot Issue', 'Muzik', 'Heart to Heart' and ended with 'Mirror Mirror'—with not much choreography for Mirror Mirror (and none of
that move). These girls have killer voices live, dayum!
Kara were also pretty awesome with ‘Step’, ‘Lupin’ & ‘Mister’. Nicole had an injury so she didn't really dance much but still belted it out.
The crowd went totally insane for 2PM and TVXQ. One dude in the crowd had his arms folded the entire time until TVXQ hit the stage, pretty funny. 2PM really killed it with ‘Put your hands up’ I was expecting something special for that and was not disappointed at all. Other highlights included BEAST with ‘Shock’, IU and Taemin doing an acoustic version of ‘Gee’, and of course the goodbye stage.
We didn't spot a single westerner anywhere so the vibe was pretty incredible, lots of groups doing the chants for certain songs was a highlight. And my god, the screaming,
the screaming!
Production was outstanding, seriously good. The scale of the stage right in front of you was awe-inspiring. We also had fantastic seats meaning lots of great photo opportunities.
The only disappointment was that we arrived an hour late meaning we missed Orange Caramel opening the concert with ‘Bangkok City’ and also Afterschool's performance. But in the end it was still a killer night. Would do again a thousand times over.
