Group D was a bit of a snore feast last night and in Group C Squirtle had to suffer the indignity of losing to back to back 11/11 Rax rushes at the hands of Keen. Bit of a dick move using that against Squirtle after what happened in Game 7 of the final. Squirtle still made it out of the group stage though.

thanks dudez. so ive been watching a few husky/day9/hdstarcraft vids. what are they? are they just replays of old games with youtube commentary?

Day9 is more nerdy i guess, it's about being a better gamer, unless you've been watching his red bull casts. He goes into a fair bit of analysis

But yeah mostly those guys just get replays that pro's have released or sent to them and cast them

most high level play will revolve around certain build orders that depends on the circumstance and you can see that in the jargon when discussing gameplay. i dropped off ladder play ages ago (and was really only doing team matches) but the best thing to do would probably be to try each race to get an idea of which one best suits your playstyle, then pick one to get good at (most people have a preferred race when playing). this will also help you to find out what you're up against when playing multi.

once you decide ok yep i like terran etc then you can start going thru the general strategies. the teamliquid site sean posted is the one i used to get most of my info from general news / state of play sort of articles, but they also have a wiki which can guide you from the ground up: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Main_Page

there are universal fundamentals to being successful at this game that all relate to your micro and macro

But mostly macro, hardest thing in this game is not getting fuckin supply blocked buildin workers and keeping money low

I've managed to get the building workers part down just gotta stop getting supply blocked
