Glitch Hop!
So, anyone spinning this sound much? It seems to be becoming fairly popular, but is kind of a weird genre... Takes equally from the dubstep/bass music scene, as well as the psytrance/psybient scene. Will be interesting to see where it goes...

Hasn't this been around for like 5+ years now?

I like some of it, hate other parts of it...it's interesting that's for sure, I like how it'll vary in BPM from sub 90 to 135+

Would like to hear some mixes if anyone has links to share?

Yeah, been around for ages - but it just seems to have recently crossed over into clubland in the last year or so. Before that I heard it at doofs... (stuff like Opiuo and Mr Bill).

yeah im right into it, Opiou is the king of the scene imo, Bluntinstrument and a few others are bringing in to popularity on the back of the ghetto funk stuff that has brought low slung breaky bass heavy funky stuff back into vogue

ive been following nufunk & ghettofunk for years and this stuff imo is basically the same albeit a tad slower and more glitchier - i love it!

Glitch and glitch hop is huge in the outdoor party scene's and some club nights in QLD. I love it but still think a good party should have as many different genre's as possible.
meh..

I have been playing it for a couple of years now, while there is a truckload of shit coming out under the glitchhop banner there is tons of dope stuff coming out, especially on the heavy hiphop vibe side of things.

There is a couple of older sets in my sig below that are worth a listen.

Electro swing?!?! WTF, I've just checked some shit on youtube, it's just fucking house, swing/big-band orientated house, but it's still just house.

Derrick Carter used to always drop the odd track like that stuff...worked into a house set, tracks like that rock and go off, but doesn't need to be it's own genre and playing only that sound for a whole set would get super fucking tiresome.

Remember Carter dropping this at a gig once, was tops!

The Benny Goodman Orchestra - Sing Sing Sing (With a Swing) - YouTube

Was a version with female singer, but fucked if I've ever been able to find who did it...sounded very similar to the original version, too, just female vocals
