Okay folks so its time to kill the PLastic Music thread and move on with our lives :p

I have recently turned a bit of a corner with DJing and it has developed into something new that i will be showcasing monthly / bi monthly- here and all around the world wide web. The first edition of 'Revolutions' will be up for download during the weekend. There wil be no catering to the masses with the big vocals I have occasionally dabbled in or over the top epic breakdowns at high speeds. Just the best of the new stuff that i love.

Each month may sometimes seemed lopsided in reagrds to labels or artists or the like (the first will have quite a bit Mistique Recordings tunes) - but this may happen from time to time as i will just be selecting my favourite dance music as it is released. Music policy is smooth, driving, atmospheric, melodic and intricate. Some will call it prog, some trance - its just good solid dance music imo.

Keep your eyes peeled - Revolutions 1 should be up very soon :-)

Grabbed this last week, got the chance now to listen to it in one go - it is extremely good. I like this sound alot, Charata is unbelievable. It would be something Oakie would play if he was still alive.

Mix starts out really good and builds up, I like The End, and Tucano (I think it gets away without being cheesy). Sacred Emotion is kinda funny, turns into Psy lol. The thing for me though is the mix really peaks at Charata... What do I know anyway

Okay - So after a successful launch to the Revolutions concept with 98 downloads Revolutions 2 will be up on Friday.
15+ spankin fresh grooves (well maybe 1 or 2 classics) in an hour put together as seamlessly as i can - nice melodic hypnotic 3-Dimensional progressive/techno/trancey stuff from 125-132ish bpm.

Slight delay with part 2 technical issue with my internet at the moment - so i should have it up monday night now. Sorry for the delay - it will (hopefully) be worth it - its a lot stronger than the last one imo.

Gave it a listen yesterday.

Did not like it at 17-19 mins when that Deadmau5 sound came in. Made me squirm lol. Think it was track 4. Answer42 - Tucano. Antix then came and saved the day straight afterwards though

Rest of the mix was good. Am a fan of the deeper stuff. Even track 11. Solid Snake - Avatar went a bit too "cheesy house sound" for me.

i know what your saying with tucano and the 8th notes - dun mind them used occasionally myself - but i see where your coming from . Out of any mix of my own this is the one i have listened to the most - and yeah i find i lose interest at the solid snake tune - wouldnt say cheesy house tho :p

anywho thanks for the feedback - v similar to my own thoughts - i hope you can grab the next one a little less deep but also with less house influences and slightly more technoey / trancey

Yeah I mean that Solid Snake tune is psy.. just in the mix it has that sound from about 56:36 that only runs for about 30 seconds which reminded me of a lot of those 'blog-house' type tunes that you would hear in Soho or something (dunno if you've been to that club)

Im very untimely with my feedback but I only just listened to Revolutions 2 a few days ago, was pretty good, more tracks towards the end I liked surprisingly. Favourite by a mile was Nemanja Kostic - Earth, perhaps not very amazingly made but the melody is so good Nice find.

yeah nemanja has some wikkid tunes around - remind me a bit of vangelis or jean michelle jarre - check out his newie - revolution (great name hey )

Finally...



So yeah i have put together a 'pure trance' (my definition - you can make your own) mix together - chock full of spanking fresh tunes. This thing has taken me almost a month to put together and during that time i began to wonder what compelled my to sit here in front of my computer putting these things together.

As i thought back i realised - 'shit its pretty much 10 years to the day that i bought my first set of crusty citronic turntables!' Thinking back it was one of the most life altering decisions i have made - met many friends and had lots of great times because of those things.

So with this mix i came pretty close to abadoning this one - its lucky that i didnt because it turned out to be something i know ill treaasure for years to come. The mix itself goes for an hour and contains 18 tunes, edits and grooves put together to sound kind of seamless but also exciting and energy building.

Not going to post a tracklist - if you are interested in any them though feel free to ask - sharing the music is what djing is all about. The stuff in here is really a throwback to my early days - before and when i bought turntable - music from joof records, iono, ticon, protoculture, atmos, PLanisphere etc - to me it has come out sounding like an oldskool tilt, sasha, breeder, docks, tennis centre sort of sound. Its not perfect - but i kind of like it that way.

Crank it up, kick back and trance out!

Been reading a lot about film making over the last few months and decided to make this one following the pattern used in 99% of Hollywood Blockbusters (Homer's Odyssey).

Act one sets the scene and introduces the character:- That would be archetypal turn of the century Progressive Trance. Fairly atmospheric chuggy stuff.
15-20 minutes in we jump into act two. (Neo takes the pill, Marty McFly goes back to 1955). And all of a sudden we are listening to what sounds like Progressive Trance - but now as we know it. The bulk of the journey is here.
Then about 45 - 50 minutes in we start the journey home and act 3 begins. (Luke makes his final assault on the deathstar, Frodo dumps the ring into the cracks of doom) - with some techno trance (in the classical sense).

Give this one time - it'll grow on you.
