Danny Tenaglia retiring
So what do all the house heads think about this? I've followed his career over the past 20 years and certainly have a lot of respect for his production work and DJing. His global underground Athens was one of my fave mixes in the 90's, dark and dirty as hell. A number of tracks off that mix still stand up well today.
Has anyone got any Tenaglia memories or favorite productions to share? I might have a dig around and post a couple links up when I get a chance.

For the uninitiated here is one of the classics 'Elements' off his album 'Tourism':

He did specify is was "resigning", not retiring...translates to "I'm taking a break" to me

But I'm still fucking gutted as he's the only one left on a decade old list of people to see

Anyone want to check out Danny Tenaglia's NYC loft, complete with dubplate machine, 20,000 odd records and vintage Bozak's?

I have only really been listening to his music & sets (Very few that I actually have) for the past couple of years.

Was very lucky to see Danny play 6 & Half hours at Nevermind during the New Years period few years ago here in Sydney.
A set I will never ever forget. Not just a great DJ, but great entertainer.

He did say that night at the end he would be back to Australia at some stage, so fingers crossed.

Does anyone know whether he played a secret show at the Market (Melb) when he was out here for Summer days or Future Music in 09 or what ever it was?

I've been told that he did but I couldn't believe it. I could never forgive myself if I did actually miss the great man spin in the city in which I live.
My mixes:

Bruno Orso’s Sunrise Over Tocumwal, 28 January 2012

Same, had planned to hit NYC in August and was planning my whole 3 week US itinerary around his dates.

Had to cancel the trip, so the only bright side is at least I'm not missing him because of it.

As for the Market gig, 99.9% sure it didn't happen. There was that Sydney Sunday gig that I'm still kicking myself I didn't fly up for. Had tickets but no one else I knew could come, should have just flown solo.

I wonder if his white horse is up for sale?
I want to build a bridge between white people and black people.
