I like having calloused hands cause they're more useful for manual work. Try hauling 40m of 40mm mooring rope onto a deck with baby-soft hands, it wouldn't be pleasant.

Sometimes you do, but it's not always practical, or comfortable.

My hands will probably soften up a bit at my new job with the goofy rubber gloves we have to wear.

The ends justify the means. But yeah, pretty much

any Adelaide locals in here?

I took the bike over there on the weekend and did 95km up and down the coast on Sat and then 60km through the hills on Sunday. Some nice roads and damn fine wine of course!

Not sure, but it was no doubt dead lift related... I can barely walk. It's fucked!

It was a pre-existing issue that has returned - my dead lift technique is right it's just bad luck.

Edit: anyway, like I say, I'm not sure what it was. Just woke up yesterday with pain which got progressively worse.

We need an "acknowledge" button for when we don't want to "like" a comment.

Took the advice and really slowed my pace down this afternoon. Did 5km fairly easily I have to say and could have probably done another two. I'm finding a good rhythm for longer distances. Took me about half an hour which is quite leisurely but I can work on speed now that I know I'm more than comfortable with the distance. Need to work up to 8km by 3rd of June. Easily done I think.

EDIT - Haha AK, we did almost the same run
