Hmmm....Posted recently by the developer on the HaxSync issues forum...

Updated by Mathias Roth 1 day ago

Sounds like Facebook is having problems with their API today. I would suggest you try again in a few hours.

I'll try again tomorrow or so....

edit: nfi what was going on, but uninstalling and reinstalling Facebook has seen HaxSync work...

I don't get it either but hey, people like to apparently. I know you like album art for mp3s where as I couldn't care less, so everyone has a different preference.
Nice of the developer to put in a safety feature though.

Syncing contact photos I get, syncing hi res photos I don't, although I suppose until a few years ago caller ID would just show a small postage sized box, nowadays it takes up the whole background of the phone.

The stock music player on my GN seems to be playing songs out of order, whether it's an album or a playlist that I've put together. I can't seem to find anywhere to fix it, is that the way it is? Any recommendations on other players?

Can anyone recommend a good drawing app? Nothing complex, just something to doodle on when I'm bored at work would be awesome.

the drawing app that comes with Evernote seems decent, although I haven't used it a whole lot.

You should have Evernote on your phone regardless. It's delightful.

Is that Skitch? The one where you can annotate photos and stuff? I don't have that but I do use Evernote constantly. Will check it out.

Thoughts on the update? Im hoping it will improve my battery life a bit as mine is a bit erratic.

it looks slick (although i use GoLauncher anyway), and a fair few of the apps i use daily are a lot nicer to use. Chrome browser is cool too. Not sure if it's my imagination and i have no data to back it up, but it feels like download speeds are a bit better both on wifi and nextg.

Havent noticed much difference in battery life but i use juice defender anyway.

Same with mine but my battery needs a charge first, its only 20ish MB so it must be something minor, hopefully some battery fixes.

The OneX software update was to fix the battery issues people were having. Supposedly, for an 'average' user, it should improve the battery by 30-40%.

Awesome news then

Romie, what web browser have you been using?

I'm finding that often when I'm on Dolphin for a while, when I go back to home screen I get an annoying "loading" screen that can take anywhere from 5 to 30 seconds.

Chrome for Android rocks. All my desktop favourites easily transferred to my phone. Multiple tabs, speedy browser. If you have ICS, you should have Chrome.

I've been using Google docs for about a year now and never had many problems, though mainly was being used for word processing / syncing files between uni computers and my home computer. Though while I've been on holiday in Europe its been awesome as storage for all those confirmation emails you get from airlines, buses, trains, accommodation etc. Once the email comes through I just download pdf, then hit send to Google docs and it's in there. Then I set em all available offline on my phone so I don't need wifi to view. Its saved my ass 3 times so far.

Also FYI for anyone travelling, get Tripit. It automatically scans your email and generates an itinerary and groups all the travelling information together... Hard to explain but it's pretty awesome, it's been majorly handy for my trip. It also is all stored offline and can be synced with Google calendar. It generates google maps directions for going between train stations, automatically works out time zones and provides contact numbers for all the organisations that you are travelling /staying with.
I think i might have mentioned it before anyway but it's definitely one of the most useful apps

if you have android 4.0+ try chrome. If you don't like it, or if you have a previous version of android, try Dolphin. They are both very good.

cheers for the tips kasper, gonna try them out just for peace of mind.

I just got home and the screen on my One X wont illuminate. The keys still light up and I can hear the sound when I press the volume key but other than that it's fucked. WHAT THE FUCK. I was using it 10 minutes earlier and it was fine...

It's just been in my pocket, like is has been plenty of times already. So frustrating... I need it for work, and because of the 'mini sim' i wont be able to use a spare phone.

Oh my god what a relief, I figured it out. What a useless **** the HTC customer support was on the phone. I asked if there was any way to reset it he said no. Turns out holding the power key down for 10 seconds resets it... all is well.

Anyone noticed that the play store now rents movies? Not exactly cheap, but prices are comparable with those on itunes.

Between 4-6 bucks for a movie.. can watch for a total of 48hrs after starting first viewing but can be downloaded and stored on a device for up to 30 days.

Don't know what the data usage would be like tho!

i'm quite disappointed, after a couple of days it's clear that it;s chewing through battery WAY faster (like 3 or 4 times as fast) when the phone is sleeping than it did on gingerbread. I'll have to look around for a solution or consider a different ROM.

edit: confirmed, this is a thing.

If you actually read the thread you'd see that Romie and I both have One X.

I've turned down the brightness to almost nothing, doesn't do much. It's a huge screen, it's always going to eat power.

Why don't you just leave it plugged into a USB port at your desk all day?

I'm not finding it lasting any less than my GS2 or my Sensation XL. Certainly not lasting longer, but based on the same usage, i actually think my GS2 ate battery quicker.

Maybe you might need to calibrate the battery? Not sure if it applies anymore but I did it to my DHD a couple of times and it worked well. Apparently the software is (was) poorly written so thought the battery was full when it wasn't.

Try it, can't hurt.
