Deep Forest (2012 Kazuki Mix)
Had a crack at a jacking house / tribal house version of the the classic early 90's worldbeat track, 'Deep Forest'. What do you think?

Also, here's some acid-techno I've been working on (felt self indulgent to make two threads)

Dragon Dreaming Festival - 25-27 October @ Canberra - Prog/Psytrance

Soliton Drop Festival - 10-12 January @ NSW - Prog/Psytrance

Hard NV - 1 February - @NV Nightclub, Canberra - Hard Techno

Brotherhood - 8 February @Canberra Warehouse - Techno/Trance

Had feedback from Eric from Deep Forest, he digs it, so that's good enough for me!

There are my impressions from one quick listen.

Deep Forest: Kick drum's too loud, at least the snapping part, probably too much compression. Arrangement's a lil too sparse. Should really go for a lusher mix with this one. Bring the pads up more and stereo-widen them, and give them some animation either by gating or sidechaining. Sidechain-compress the whooshing risers to your kick. Try some delays on the flute.

Acid-techno track: In the beginning, the 16th note rolling bassline has too much sustain that the notes blur into each other. Try to make it punch more like Pryda's basslines. Needs moar squelchy bits.
