ok so recently i've become obsessed with gemini. i never used to rate his productions but after hearing some awesome mixes from the man i decided to go through his whole discography and found some really cool releases. the rarer ones in particular are absolute gold. i picked up this album recently, was the last copy on discogs.
killer tunes, but what i love most about gemini are his dj sets. the dude just plays whatever the fuck he wants and it sounds incredible. house, techno, disco - gemini throws it all together in his sets. these are all the gemini sets that i'm aware of, if you have any more please post them!
one of my favourite house djs these days. the only other person who i can think of on his level of excellence on the decks is terrence parker. if anyone can name me some other house djs like these two who take things to the next level (ie - cutting, scratching, live mashups, blending house/techno/disco seamlessly together) i'd love to hear about them! these types of djs inspire me the most - people who think outside the box, rather than just mixing the outro of track A into the intro of track B the same way most djs do.
so, who else is a fan?

bone, farina, carter, gene farris, derrick may, roger sanchez, claude young, stacey kidd, sadly these names dont play the stuff they use to play back in the 90's, maybe only bone still throws it here and there but he's mainly techno, sanchez plays absolute dogshit and carter and farina play such uninspiring stuff these days that i cant be arsed listening to their sets any more, if you can find any of these guys sets from the 90's you've hit the jackpot. thats the way a lot of american djs use to mix back in the 90's cause tracks were pretty short which made you work your mixes, these days tracks are too long which makes djs lazy and they let shit play forever. get this if you can, imho the best mix cd ever made, to this day i still havent found anything like it, its probably the pinnacle of the 90's mixing and house/techno
gemini was brought over back in 99 by jon hardy for stateside, i went to see him play to an empty club, there was like 10 people dancing on the floor, jon brought him over once or twice again together with derrick carter, i think jon started tinted with tim mcghee back in the day and thats how he prolly got him to release for tinted, maybe young jase can chime in on this cause he use to work with jon and tim at the old central station back then, funny you mention this cause i was just listening to a sample from the ep prolly few weeks back but right now but i cant remember where the fuck i found a link to it, all i remember is that one track i heard was pretty dope.
