yup, it's the next generation mobile network standard and requires specific radio hardware to access (which also differs between regions). i don't think the one x comes out in a 4G variant yet, but at this stage you probably wouldn't want it anyway as it's known to be a bit of a battery killer.

Ok, cheers. Battery life is a massive thing for me and I have wireless internet at home so can't see how 4G will make too much of a difference to my life...

EDIT: Just read that the One XL will only have a dual core processor and only carries 16GB of storage compared to 32GB with the One X...Happy to forgo the slightly faster facebooking

Just use a google account for email etc.... Juice defender has helped but some of the stuff it does gives me the shits.

seems a bit strange that such a popular phone would have issues with the native email app.

I haven't had any issues on SGS2...

I'm not discounting a server end issue, but IT are telling me it's a well known issue.

Fair enough. the company I work for is also running ICS with exchange 2008, and we are all fine.

I have little doubt that there is something *unique* about the exchange server arrangement for our company.

hmm, yeah gnex on a 1 year contract could be good timing right about now, the next nex is probably about a year off anyway.

Not really...The One X at Vodafone is $0 on $59 a month plan...so over 2 years, thats $1416.

That phone outright is about $600...then 24 months x $49 per month (comparable payg to the $59/month plan) is another 1176, totalling $1776.

telstra will shorten contracts to 12 months but you pay extra handset payments. I don't upgrade my phone all that often nor do i sperg over having the latest & greatest. Not impressed with the free 'Beats by Dre' headphones that came with my One X vodafone deal. Sure the sound quality is great once you get the earbuds in just the right position, but they're useless for the gym because they don't fit in my fucking ears properly. I've tried heaps of the different sizes and they're just fucked, they keep coming out. Apparently the RRP is $150, what a joke. The seinheiser $79 ones I used to have were heaps better.

It does make a difference, Optus uses QoS on their network so their customers get priority service over Virgin, if your service sucks now it'll suck even harder with Virgin.

Tell me about it! I couldn't get the fucking things into my ears. The right side didn't fit at all. The left side would pop out any time I turned my head.
