Sitting comfortably between house, techno and electronica, his music often conveys an indefinable dimension and unclassifiable quality that sets him apart from his peers with poise and ease. You will just know Isolée when you hear him. Starting out with a love for synthesizers, drum computers and synth pop in Frankfurt am Main in the 1980s, he stumbled across the city’s club culture and eventually into techno and house. A career synonymous with Frankfurt’s Playhouse label emerged, and tracks such as the timeless ‘Beau Mot Plage’ and albums like ‘Rest’ or ‘We Are Monster‘ established Isolée as one of electronic music's unique craftsmen. He came on late 1:50 which pissed off a few people. Although when he finally did come on you could hardly tell, It was as if the warm-up DJ’s had programmed his first hour or so. He never raised the bar and stuck to playing deep house grooves most of the night. The repetitive loops were immersive at times; I can vividly remember when he had the same loop going for over 10 minutes. Kind of disappointing though.

Yeah,I just read in this thread that he was supposed to start at 1. When I started to break the tracks down into repetitive 1 or 2 bar loops, I knew it wasn’t going to be a good night. No flow at all.

The venue was awesome though, nice and intimate.
