Yeah that's definitely colder than what it will be when I set out. Gotta get some more carbs into me first.

Scotty seriously if you don't want to do it just don't. You seem to enjoy heavy lifting much more, why not just stick with that?

Because sometimes you've gotta suck it up and do shit when you don't want to if you want to get better at it.

It's not the running, it's the weather that's putting me off Derp

http://weather.smh.com.au/local.jsp?lt=aploc&lc=624&t=c

Can't put it off though, into my official marathon training now, no skipping sessions.

Proper running socks make a MASSIVE difference for running in the wet. Very high up on my 'why did I leave it for so long' list of purchases.

He's already said that after he finishes the marathon hes going to stop running. Seems wholly pointless to me. But whatever floats your boat, good luck on your long run today

This one below says knee varus is associated with shin injuries....

This one says that knee genu varum is related to patellofemoral pain syndrome.....

I have previously posted links to studies which indicate it is the vertical loading RATE (ie: the rate of increase in ground reaction force upon foot-strike) that is most associated with shin injuries. The vertical loading rate is affected by running technique and can be trained.

Speaking of running like a fairy, why do the male refs/umpires in televised netball games always seem to be very camp?

A few of you run in those icebreaker tops when it rains yea? Which one specifically (short/long) and do you find you overheat sometimes or does the rain keep you sufficiently cool?

ive only used my longsleeve once (200 middle weight) and it was 8 degrees when i left and 17 when i got back. i rolled the sleeves up but my torso didn't overheat at all. they breathe super well and whisk the sweat away like magic.

ive worn my short sleeve lightweight 150 in the morning and evening on short runs and it's also brilliant. i ran home in the rain in it on thursday and it stayed surprisingly dry.

I run in my icebreaker top with a line break compression top underneath. Wicks the sweat away and never really feels like its too 'hot' but I tend to wear the jacket when it's fairly brisk out.

I've run in my bodyfit 200 icebreaker, it's quite good when it's colder. Does get a bit sweaty though, prolly a good idea to do what Eddie does with the Linebreak under it.

Running in a jumper? Fuck dat, I'd overheat like a mother fuck. I am however going to have to wear a beanie because my big ears get super cold and then start hurting when I'm in the cold. I'm finally working myself up to be running people. Going to start C25K tomorrow. Nads, an encouraging text at 5:15 pm would be delightful

Indoor soccer tonight, two games, 40 minutes in between. First game was shit house, I had too much indecision, missed an open goal and made a turnover that cost a goal. Went down 3-1.

Second game I absolutely nailed it. Maybe even better than Thursday's effort. Was involved in two set pieces with one of our emergencies (somebody couldn't make it) where we both got a goal each out of it and we won 2-0 against a team that we always manage to throw the games away.

The main reason now I want to become running people is because I'm feeling a bit tubby, and I want my fitness to increase. I can sprint around like crazy but after 8-9 minutes I get too knackered.

There's other brands of merino stuff that cost a bit less and are still decent. Icebreaker is pro though.

Just gotta find a mate who works in an outdoors store. 50% to 70% off without breaking a sweat, especially the older styles.
