I had the opportunity to listen to both CD's in full and well, it's right up my street.

As much as I love many of the previous journey-esque, atmospheric Balance Releases, this does it for me on that party mind level. This is an awesome listen for a Friday/Saturday/Sunday night mood setter. Just imagine, you're with all your pals at a mates house, got a few beers and what not on the go, tunes blasting and you're all getting fired up for the messy night ahead!

Totally think this release will smash UK & Europe, I think Australia is a little different in it's taste & expectation but I still think it'll be appreciated if it's listened to with the right mindset.

Overall, IMO, a fckn awesome release. I love the concept and, the tunes and the vibe of it.

Great work Balance Nic & Saved.

Anyone else got their hands on this as yet? I'm still kinda in two minds about it, hated it on first listen but it's improving a little. Main problem for me is his build-up programming is sublime across both discs, but the tunes he builds up to are pretty fucking forgettable. Don't think this'll have a long shelf life for me, not enough melodic meat on the bones.

Next please!

I'm reviewing this and it's definitely growing on me - but admittedly from a very low starting point.

There is some great music in here, but it's buried in so much dross that it can be a chore a times getting through it.

It's like an interesting hour long conversation stretched over two hours.
I want to love it for the sixty minutes where I'm utterly engaged, but the sixty minutes I'm waiting or just plain bored prevents me from doing so.

Still, it does get better with listens and it's definitely mood music. This is the sort of thing to get you in the mood for something more interesting. A warm up set of sorts. Viewed in that light - it's an interesting album. It's also very cleverly structured. Just not the sort of driving, or chugging progressive sound that grabs me. It's far more "house" than progressive.

It keeps getting better

I'm starting to think this is more like those Satoshi Tomeii Renaissance Masters Series mixes that took me ages to like, but when I finally did I enjoyed them far more than others ever seemed to.

Here's my two cents - http://themusic.com.au/reviews/album...i-balance-021/ - it's alright, but pretty forgettable. I don't look to Balance mixes for background music, and then when he does release the hounds on disc two his track selection is pretty one-dimensional imo.

Improves with repeated listens, but it'll never be a classic.

Paging Angy, who was foaming his gash all over it on FB today...

I think fluidlife said it best, its definitely great mix for setting the mood at a pre-party before going out on a saturday night. But apart from that, wouldnt really give a listen in any other context

Bought this a few weeks back and have been able to give it a good number of spins.

CD1 is definately the better, seems to have a better flow/vibe to it, even though a few of the vocals were anoying. Mario Basanov - Up (Original Mix) is a highlight. Thought the CD was going to finish with that.

CD2 was a bit of a let down. Was expecting a few highlights apart from Westworld but nothing really grabbed me.

To the bottom of the draw it goes.

Next!
But if your life is such a big joke, why should I care?

Why Goldfish? It's certainly somewhat less suited to hosting a tech-house stalwart like Fanciulli than it is a HedKandi or Ministry night. Arttists of his calibre do not belong in the 'Cross.

I'm getting a lot out of disc 2. Some really good thumping and deep tunes.

I'll need to give disc 1 another few listens I think.
Well, we all probably should have listened more intently when Michael Jackson repeatedly advised us how bad he was.

After repeated listens I'm really liking both discs.

It's not an epic release, it's not that style of music. But the production quality of the tunes is very solid, and the groove grows with each listen.

Probably his best release for mine.
