A Strangely Isolated Place is a music community and label, dedicated to bringing you inspirational electronica and ambient music. Created in 2008, the name of the site wasn’t picked on the brilliance of Ulrich Schnauss’ album alone, but also because of the belief that everyone is inspired by their own strangely isolated place. From big to small, from the surreal to the real, from the instantaneous moments to the epic journeys; the music that’s posted here is what I deem to be the perfect spark, partner or prelude to defining a strangely isolated place.

Brilliant ambient, downtempo, electronica mixes from a whole range of different artists... with detailed information on each of the mixes and the feelings and thoughts behind them, as well as tracklists

Two I'd like to share -

Andy Green – Tranquilized
http://astrangelyisolatedplace.com/2...-tranquilized/

Andy has re-wound the tapes back to the 90′s and put together his very own strangely isolated place; inspired by the ambient rooms of early London techno clubs such as Final Frontier. Outcast member Beaumont Hannant appears in his preferred early 90′s guise, alongside one of Seefeel’s earliest works from the brilliant Succour and one of Aphex twin’s alter egos, Polygon Window.

“I Pretended to create a trip from quiet introspection to more dynamic feelings without losing the connection with sensitivity, beauty and power. This also pretends to be a little tribute to the artists in here to appreciate their infuence over me and the great moments provided to me.”

1. Snowy Lava — Ametsub. Fits me gorgeously when I go out of the city to a lonely place when human presence begins to vanish.
2. REM sleep research — Ochre. A magic, delicate dream where I come back when I need to.
3. Adrift — Tycho. Blinding sun light, warming and encouraging.
4. Between us and them — Ulrich Schnauss. A train taking off from land and flying. A personal classic.
5. Firen (read edit) — Yimino. A voice inside me tells me: “activate the magic in everything by a simple touch”.
6. Spineless — Tobias Lilja. A powerful ball of energy grows inside my chest and propagates to my extremities.
7. Vessel — Jon Hopkins. Sensitivity and force.
8. Clipper — Vaetxh. Electrocution and time jumps in my brain
9. Curious Eye — Stable Mechanism. Android birds and apocalyptical landscapes. Great spanish artist here.
10. Wind — Eleven Tigers. Seducting darkness
11. Undiscovered colors — The Flashbulb. A departure, a farewell of something inside me.

I don't go to be in the VIP area.. I don't need big breaks, a big song with a buildup and lights and smoke.. all you need is a kickdrum and a good bassline. You don't need any of that other shit. Na, I'm not going for none of those reasons.. I'm just going for the music.

From 1994, incredible, the 303 sounds are worked in to the track to perfection
