This was one of the last sets I did in Melbourne and one i'm really quite proud of.
I wanted to channel a couple of my fav DJ's in Phil K (Shoe Monkey was on an old Phil CD from 2003 http://www.discogs.com/Various-Retro...elease/1865571) and a bit of James Zabiela genius at the end. It also shows my love of all sounds from Breaks at the start, to a more melodic prog and tribal sound through to Drum & Bass at the end, finishing with one of my all time favourite tracks, remixed to perfection by Chris Fortier.
It also showcases a couple of tracks from 2 of my bigger gigs i've ever played, CVS - Big & Round I played closing after Lee Burridge and Quenum - Everyday People was dropped to a sold out crowd warming up for Guy J recently.
It's a bit dark at times, the drum patterns are all over the shop, but it represents me as a DJ and a music fan.

I felt it was time to flip things on their head and do a mix that was 100% broken beat for the podcast – and here we have it! Lashings of all types of Breaks and Drum’n'Bass from start to finish. I’ve always played a hint of breakbeat in my sets, but rarely have the time to put together a full two hours of it – so here we go.
Expect scratching, backspins, quick mixes, 90′s synth sounds among other influential characteristics. We cross all forms of breaks, ghetto, funky, psy influenced, electro and trancey before landing full force into a final 30 of Drum’n'Bass. I very much enjoyed putting this together and have a ton more tunes where these came from so stay tuned for the next broken beat edition – there will certainly be more!

Deep, dark and sometimes twisted 4 deck techno recorded live on the Gold Coast, 8th September 2012.
The set has 82 tracks mixed in just under 2 and a half hours. Those that have heard me play before know that this is a reasonably normal rate of tracks for my mixes. I'm happy with how this mix played out. Those at the party seemed to enjoy it too. It's not a seamless, 10 track an hour two channel mix which seems to have become the fashion amongst a lot of techno DJs over the past few years. Each to their own. Personally, I love the risk and excitement of throwing elements of multiple quality tracks into the mix and trying to create something that is original and entertaining.
