Is anyone else from the humble working class suburbs of the north in Melbourne Tech?? Or just me?? lol

B side of the new WAX is so so good. I think Shed is the loopiest bloke in techno right now. So why is it so good?? To me its like that lawyer in the Castle "its just the vibe of it" but I wish I could pin-point it

he's unique - it's hard to come by that classic german vibe + an innate sense of rhythm and groove.

plus he doesn't need huge OTT splashes of effects to create moments in his tunes.

good techno behaviour

So Head High is the latest known killer moniker from Shed.

Please don't tell me that this prick (a reference I make with genuine affection) is WK7 as well. It would be just too much.

There is an uncredited monster EP that has been doing the rounds since December last year, the second release on Power House (Head High was the first), WK7 - The Avalanche

Discogs page: http://www.discogs.com/WK7-The-Avala...elease/2598606

The only sample I can give you of The Avalanche is in a Levon Vincent set from earlier this year.

Novel Sound Promoganda? Volume 1 Mixed by Levon Vincent, February 2011

Track List:

Ovatow - promo
Joey Anderson - Dive Deep
Steve Poindexter - Jam the Body
Mr G - Sunday Blues (Kasper Mix)
WK7 - Avalanche
Alex Kid - Love music
Ryo Murakami - Closer
Moodyman - Live in LA
Radioslave - X beat
? - Stand By ME
Shed - Well done my son
Billy Ray Martin - Lovin

Track two on the B side, Higher Power (Hardcore PCK MIx), has been credited to Shed and goes something like:

Media Player
WK7 - Higher Power (hardcore pck mix) - YouTube
My mixes:

Bruno Orso’s Sunrise Over Tocumwal, 28 January 2012
Track list

Motivating Liebing by Bruno Orso, 18 March 2012

Just out of curiosity, are you guys loving the Higher Power remix (embedded), the Avalanche (in the Levon Vincent set which, by the way, is well worth listening to anyway), or both?

The Higher Power remix is wicked but it is the Avalanche which I thinks is completely off the charts.

Seeing Shed would almost be too stressful...unless you knew he was getting 3 hours +, which itself is basically unheard of for a live act, there is just no way you are going to hear everything you want to hear.

The guy is just a genius.

Edit: it is a very good thing that a) his albums and wax releases are normally priced; and b) Head High is all about the piano meaning that I wont be able to convince myself to fork out stupid money to buy the original powerhouse release.

I don't think this has been posted yet.

It is a very jackin two hour festival set from the man. The track list is certainly nothing new but it is a fairly rare insight into what Shed sounds like when banging out choones...as you'd expect it is nothing but the highest quality (I suppose it helps when you can spin 1/4 of the set of your own mad **** tracks).

You have to follow the below link. It is a visual recording of the set he played (with good sound quality).

Shed @ Drift Festival, Nijmegen, NL, 2011-05-21

http://www.mixesdb.com/w/2011-05-21_...,_Nijmegen,_NL

Track list:

[008:15] Mike Dehnert - Mischkaa [Colombage]

[013:20] Ben Klock - Compression Sessions [Ostgut Ton]

[022:50] Head High - It's a Love Thing (Power Cut) [Power House]
[031:10] Head High - It's a Love Thing (Piano Invasion) [Power House]

[044:30] Recloose - Can't Take It (Carl Craig Remix) [Planet E]
[048:10] WAX - WAX20002_B [WAX]
[053:10] Redshape - Plonk (Dub) [Present]
[056:25] Sascha Rydell - "SR" (MDSR EP) [Fachwerk]

[085:20] Mike Dehnert - Dico A1 [Fachwerk]
[091:20] EQD - EQD005_B [EQD]
[098:20] Shed - Boom Room [Ostgut Ton]
[104.10] Shed - My R Class [Ostgut Ton]
[108:40] WK7 - The Avalanche [Power House]

I think there is another EQD track at the end.

There's also Julio Bashmore - Batty Knee Dance towards the start, and Cosmin TRG - Izolat at about 73 minutes.

Good mix BTW, good find. Can't wait till he's out.

Yeah deep, just relax. We don't have to miss out on a thing with Liebing.

Edit: just save yourself the trouble of getting down on a gig that isn't really limited in its potential. I say this from the experience of gettin overly negative about...basically everything

Even if this was at night there is hardly any other decent venue for Liebing. Mercat is too small, Roxanne's floor would probably cave and there is a real lack of spaces going around at the moment.

It helps that it is all ridiculously good.

In fairness, each alias has a fairly unique identity so I give him the credit of using a new alias for each new idea (rather than just being a cynical marketing ploy).
