I don't work in the city - I'm in Walkerville. But I can get out and about if I need to.

I'm often at Thebarton, the Wheaty, during the day too

Went to uncorked at the national wine institute last night. Missed the talk as it was at 4.30 but lots of fun never the less. I think they're running for the next few months.

Also had some drinks at grace establishment. Solid cocktail barman there.

Sounds good mate, probably shouldn't do brews at lunch though since I'm on client sites.

Two places you ought to check out :

"Adelaide Korean Specialty Butcher" no joke, this is the name. It's on Pitt St (between Grote and Franklin). It's a meat extravaganza, not too much in the way of veggies. Each table has a burner to charring meat too ... it's pretty damn authentic. It's usually full of Korean students.

The other is Kim's BBQ in the Moonta St food court (off gouger). Superb flavours. Dodgy looking place though - even for the food court's standards.

There's also a new place at the end of Rundle St, opposite the Stag, called Haanssie which I've heard some good things about - it has to be better than that dodgy chain Italian restaurant which was there before.

If you are chinstroking about coals in korean bbq you have consumed insufficient soju.

"soju han byeong juseyo" repeat until you have stopped worrying about shit like that.

crappy quality pictures of the suckling pig at Press*

note : don't order entrees, or have more than 10 people, because otherwise there is [gasp] just too much tasty tasty pig to eat. Crackling , the pork, the bits of marrow, the leg, everything was superb.

good thing there was a Malay Chinese girl with us, she attacked that pig head and started pulling bits out and eating it ...

alright, Christmas lunch/dinner is being discussed again... Options I've put forward, but we're in a profitability slump at the moment which will probably mean a goon bag and charcoal chicken sambo's in the park

Cos
chianti classico
Celsius
D'Arenberg (even more unlikely due to having to hire a mini bus)
Press (although we've been there a few times)

whatever is in place of Sparrow's (thank christ that heap of shit closed)

hey guys just wondering if you could hit me up with a recommendation on some top adelaide restaurants to go to.

I'm from Perth but my best mate and her hubbie are moving to adelaide in the new year and for xmas i want to get get them a dinner voucher

we all quite like fine dining restaurants (i think they have been to Noma in Copenhagen and she i and have been to Pierre Gagnaire)

so really looking for Adelaides top experience style place to go? i've had a look online but get concerned that some of its self promoted.

anyways any suggestion would be great

thanks

Suckling pig requires 24 hours notice and needs around 8 people to eat it

Went last night. Brilliant concept, full of hipsters, Justin Lane is an owner and was behind the bar.

It's pretty small but I think will be wildly successful. I reckon if a small bar like this opened in Sydney it'd be a licence to print money.
