Thanks for taking the comment out of context, misquoting me and then being a complete fuckwit about it.

Just pointing out that journalist go out of their way to try and catch-out politicians, well anyone really and pauline hanson was one of their favourites.

If you enter parliament spouting all kinds of unfounded and ignorant epithets you deserve to be caught out.

She talked a lot of shit about the "asianisation" of Australia, and Aboriginal welfare bludging, and she never couched her talking points in anything other than jingoism and barely concealed bigotry. Tough luck if she didn't know the word. She should have known if she based her whole parliamentary career on issues that surrounded a term like xenophobia.

To my utter disappointment it’s a line that the Liberal Party and Hockey in particular has gripped on to.

What also shits me is that a woman that has always been at the forefront of the WA secessionist movement and has deep animosity for NSW and Victoria is claiming to be the white knight to save Fairfax in Sydney and Melbourne.

It was vacuous propaganda when you surround yourself by the likes of Lord Monckton. It was vacuous propaganda when the type of tax that was being discussed on mining had already been implemented on petrol with no discernible effects, when the tax would only cut in on not just profits, but massive profits.

I don't know their business, I don't know their industry, but it doesn't take a genius to work out that the current success of the mining industry is due to high demand for resources with commodity prices that are at record profitability. And when there is a downturn in commodity prices, and demand drops, which of course at some stage they will for a period, they won't pay the tax because they won't be making the same kinda dough.

I am not offering advice on how they should run their businesses anyway. I have no idea about how to run a mining enterprise. But all the economic modelling suggests a very minor impact from the carbon price, and the record levels of mining investment, already committed and in the pipeline, lends no support to their wildly embellished claims about the MRRT.

As I said before they are entitled to say what they want, lobby who they want. And it is my right to tell them to go fuck themselves if I feel they are part of fake scare campaign.

lol, whatever

please let abziie know this, because according to him I'm a free market cynic manipulating carbon markets for personal wealth. i guess i must be really fucked up.

I dont know, maybe...but it just doesn't feel right. A guy who has used his money all his life to get his way, including from what I understand, the national libs in qld ... wants to reduce his biggest advantage..?

He's not suggesting a ban on lobbying altogether as I understand it. Only that active lobbyists not also be employed by the LNP at the same time. It's not as if his wealth doesn't grant him access to the LNP anyway.

It's pretty obvious he thinks Abbott is a fool. But then, who wouldn't?
