Hey peeps, thought I'd start this thread as an archive to house all my shit. I'm a bit of an ITM newbie so here's a little about me -

BIO

If you're a lover of the progressive genre, the name Herc Kass is one you'd instantly identify with. His endless search for galloping grooves is only matched by his technical flow and belief in what he does.
Having been introduced to the turntables back in 1987, this veteran dj has spent the majority of his life mastering his craft, finding his sound and fine tuning his ear for quality.
Not phazed by trend or fad, his selections have earnt him respect the world over, either through his monthly mixes, his "Progressive Playground" radio show, his countless guest mixes or through the adoring clubbers who are always left smiling and wanting more.
The last 3 years have seen Herc along with friends Adam Holden and Jayson Holden team up to form the production team "The Chunky Fuckers". In a short period of time, they've had a string of releases on labels such as Baroque, Movement, Polytechnic, Underground City Music and are about to make their label debut on the highly regarded Mesmeric Records alongside friend and collaborator Chris Meehan.
Herc's consistancy and unique groove backed by his ability to construct a set and take the audience on an emotional and physical journey brings just one word to mind.. TRUST.

Something a little different Im working on, more funk.. (and slut)

What does deep mean to you? Ive always loved hearing other peoples thoughts on what makes a tune "deep" for them. Is it the state of mind? The emotional buzz of a certain frequency? Or is it 120bpm 4/4 with not much more than a kick drum and bassline. Theres no right or wrong answer, just personal interpretations.. This is mine..

The 52nd release on Greece's Movement Recordings sees the Australian trio of The Chunky Fuckers returning to the label for their second appearance. Jayson & Adam Holden & Herc Kass aka The Chunky Fuckers first appeared on the label with their remix of Stage Van H and Chris Mozio's 'Wicked' from May of 2011. Since then the Aussie trio has gone on to appear on Mesmeric, Underground City Music and PolyTechnic.
Their return to Movement sees them teaming up with fellow Aussie Chris Meehan who delivered several outstanding releases on Kasey Taylor's Vapour Recordings from 2004 to 2008 and more recently on Movement and Lowbit. The Aussie collective's debut collaboration for Movement is entitled 'Instinct' and it comes with three brand new original productions.

The title cut 'Instinct' leads the EP off with a subtle hypnotic line and some nice metallic percussion. This leads to a short drop which introduces a deep rolling bass line that should have many long time progressive house fans recalling many great Vapour releases of years gone by. With character laden rolls and amazing shape the bottom end comes with big dance floor appeal. An electric sounding synth line serves to darken the atmosphere further before the mood shifts once more with a bubbly sounding hypnotic lead fading into the mix. This carries the composition though an exhilarating peak that should have your dance floor thoroughly engaged.

The second track entitled 'Guided By Vices' begins with a nice shuffling, drummy feel that immediately adds great bounce to the composition. A short drop introduces a galloping bass line that comes with great momentum and huge main room appeal. Soft stabs, pulsating tones and rising atmospheric elements build the piece nicely before some razor sharp synths and nice chord changes in the bass line come in. The main drop is quite short which keeps the dance floor attention high and after a quick build the momentous groove returns for a big peak time finish.

The third and final track entitled 'Yeah Yeah Na' sees Chris going solo and delivering another underground progressive rocker. The track sets itself apart straight away with unique beat patterns and scattered hits that build some amazing anticipation early on. Dynamic drums and fresh sounding electronics along with a rolling subterranean groove and smooth hypnotic lines put a cap on a fabulous three track EP From Chris and the Chunky Fuckers.

Release Info:
The 52nd release on Movement Recordings came in August of 2012 and saw a huge collaboration from the Chunky Fuckers production trio and Chris Meehan. Jayson & Adam Holden & Herc Kass aka The Chunky Fuckers and Chris put together an outstanding three track EP entitled 'Instinct' and now for the labels first release of 2013 we see new interpretations from Ben Coda and Verve.

UK producer Ben Coda last appeared on Movement with his remix of Enormous Dee's 'Horny' from November of 2011 . Ben's fan base has grown immensely since then with great productions for Tribal Vision, Mirabilis, Baroque and Shifty Disko; not to mention his Motek club night which has already hosted events with Slam, Max Cooper, My Favorite Robot, Mark Henning and Spektre. Ben's provided a new interpretation of 'Guided By Vices' here and he's delivered a perfect club update. Filled with tough beats, a momentous groove, infectious stabs and a grinding tension filled synth during the drop this is one production that's tailor made for a big room and up for it crowd!

The second and final interpretation on the package comes from Kieran Krohn aka Verve who is making his first appearance e on Movement here. Kieran's had some very strong releases this year on Stereo Paradise, Mirabilis, Micro Digital and Lowbit; he is also in the process of setting up his own label imprint which promises to be one of 2013's best new labels. Kieran's taken the title cut from the EP 'Instinct' and transformed it into an energetic, spacey, melodic gem. A well shaped, undulating groove sits at the foundation while a spacey , hypnotic line adds to the momentous drive of the track. The drop introduces a poignant set of soft keys that come with a lovely incandescent quality and subtle epic nature that should prove to be quite deadly on the dance floor. After a quick build the framework of the track reappears but with a new twist on the bass line which makes the second half of the record quite monumental. Certainly one of Kieran's best productions to date!
