i agree, someone like schgwarz would of been good. But we are Arsenal, we're not gonna get Lloris. I don't think Szez is average.

Exactly, and it isn't going to change. Look at his other clubs, all mediocre with fans calling for his head because of no investment and no voice.

I reckon there are only a handful of keepers in the PL that Szez is ahead of at the moment. I'd say that puts him in the aveage category.

Mebbe Reina?

also Begovic, Gordon, Ruddy, Schwaz, Green, Howard, Given, Kirkland...the list goes on

Szech is not a objectively GOOD goalkeeper yet imo. He has a lot of talent though...supposes it just boils down to whether Arsenal are willing to wait a few years.

Was a great keeper but the guy has been pretty average for the last couple of seasons. I know you're a History fan obsessed with history but lets be honest here.

De Gea is no better than Szez... can pull off mad saves but can also be a liability.

Voorm, Hart, Krul, Al Habsi and Cech are my picks.

He isn't the worst keeper in the league but he definitely isn't top 5 thats for sure.

He's not even in the top 10.

I think Szez could turn out to be a fantastic goalkeeper but right now he's not great.

This discussion is fucking ridiculous. Keepers hit their prime way after outfield players with most peaking in their early to mid 30s. You're comparing a young keeper, way ahead in terms of skill to most of them at that age, to keepers who have been there for a decade or more. Some notable exceptions such a De Gea.

Reina, really? He's like 60 years old.

you realise most of those happened years ago? every keeper fucks up from time to time. he shits all over szczesney. de gea is no more of a liability than szczesney either. go back and watch poland vs greece

How is it ridiculous? He is Arsenal's number 1 at the moment and we're comparing him to other number 1s. The fact that he is too young is the whole point - this started with a question about whether they should bring in Lloris for a few years while Szez came on.

In other words, why has a champions league team with supposed title aspirations got a kid in goals?

You must be talking about United now, not Arsenal ( supposed title aspirations ).

Sczez wouldn't be in the top 5. I'd have him top 10. He lacks consistency. This is unsurprising for a a young keeper in his first full season of the EPL. We mos def need a more experienced keeper as back up, or even to share duties. Sczez's keeping towards the end of the season was a liability. His first half of the season was pretty good.

All this talk about Arsenal.

I have no issues with bringing in a better, older keeper. That means more competition. However, he was very good last year. You guys are blind if you think he wasn't.

reina is 29 years old

The one against Argentina was in 2010. Tbh, I was just posting it because the song is lol. He's nowhere near top 5 keepers in the EPL though.

I don't think he shits all over szcz... neither of them have been particularly impressive so making a call on who is better is a little difficult. It's like comparing

De Gea is no more of a liability but he is no less. They both have room for improvement.

is conceding 49 goals in 38 games supposed to be an impressive record?

The difference between De Gea and Szez is the one of them markedly improved throughout the season, whereas the other noticeably regressed.

Personality is so much more important.

Szez has been working on his popularity to boost kit sales, doughnut has been regressing since the start of the year.

no one was good last season apart from skrtel and lucas. can't expect reina to keep the most clean sheets in a team that finished 8th. morale was at an all time low.

Szez was one of our best performers last year. Yeh he dropped off in last part of the season but I'm more than comfortable with him in between sticks. An exp older keeper would be good but no need for Lloris.
We need to spend money in other areas first.

Bacary Sagna’s wife Ludvine Sagna has posted on Twitter her wish for Hugo Lloris’ wife Marine to join her in London, and for her husband to join the Gunners. Ludvine tweeted: “Really hope my friend Marine Lloris will come to #arsenal?,” wrote Ludivine Sagna.

Arsene Wenger has been watching Lloris for a very long time now, and with Fabianski due to leave the Premiership side having grown frustrated by the lack of chances he had at the club, a move for Lloris seems to be on the cards. A £12 million transfer fee is rumoured to be the figure on which Arsene Wenger is going to agree with the Lyon officials, even though the French club initially requested £16 million for the 25-year-old.
